Bad End of Big Calls

All season long the Rockets have been on the bad end of big, game-changing calls. As a Rockets fan, it's really frustrating to see them play so hard and get so far only to lose because of missed calls. For example, the out of bounds call on Dwight Howard in overtime last night. Clearly out on Aldridge, but called out on Dwight, and the next play Batum comes down and hits a three to make it 115-110 instead of 112-112. 5 points swing, would've been a completely different game and the Rockets could now be 2-2 instead of down 3-1.

Also, pretty tired of Jeremy Lin. Single-handedly lost game 4 and almost lost game 3 for them with that missed lay-up early in the clock. All he had to do was pass the ball to Parsons and the Rockets would've won in regulation.

I don't think the rockets are singled out by the refs with atrocious calls, these entire playoffs have been tainted by horrid officiating. Really getting tired of the league issuing these memo's after games saying "Oh the refs missed a call"... Too little, too late IMO, How about you make absolutely anything reviewable in the last 2 minutes and all of OT, and give teams the ability to challenge a limited number of calls over the course of a half or the entire game? Whats the point of having replay if you don't capitalise on it?

Well, it sucks but it isn't so bad that it happens now, when guys are still young, the team is still raw, the coach is bad and things need to improve. Jeremy will improve, other guys are gonna improve, a real good proven coach will be hired, Morey will do something to improve the roster, the team will grow through this and become more mature. It's better for something like this to happen now rather than like Zeke's turnover, Manu's turnover etc. If he's not too down on himself, I'm sure Jeremy will reflect, really remember this and try his best not to let it happen again.

Yes he who shall not be named lost the game the rockets are the only team to get no callas and bad calls. NBA has an agenda against the rockets.

How is the loss anything related to Lin is beyond me. He was on the bench the entire time while the team was in double digit lead the entire game and was only put into the game after they have lost the lead.

Of course, when Lin won game 3 for the Rockets, everyone went silent and gave credit to Harden and Daniels

It's really sad. Guy busted his butt to make that game-winning play and huge plays in OT in game 3 and all some seem to care about is a blown lay-up that he makes 80 to 90 percent of the time. smh.

There's some misconceptions about that play, let's take a look at it.

First of all, it's not that Lin didn't make the lay-up. It's that he decided to take a 2 for 1 with 2 possessions left and up by 3. If you miss the shot, you just gave Portland a 2 for 1 on a 5 vs 4 fast break to tie or win. Had Lin just held onto the ball, worst case, Portland ties the game with a 3. This is exacerbated by the fact that Harden was also shooting early in the shot clock in the last 5 minutes as well with the lead. This is a basic rule that's been broken, never speed up the game when you have a lead going into the final minutes.

With that being said, I still prefer Lin to go for the shot. When the game is on the line, winners want the ball in their hands. I'd rather we go for the win, then pray for Portland to choke on the last shot. We all know that if Lin held onto the ball and let our "offense" set, it would've gone to a Harden iso. With him struggling all game, it was a lower % shot than Lin's layup.

Lastly, Lin went 1 vs 5 on a fast break, but there were 4 Rockets still in the back court. What excuse is there to let Batum get an early uncontested 3? Everyone keeps saying Harden will try harder on defense in the play offs, I'm still waiting for it to happen.
