Good job Mchale, the only way we lose is if you give them the 3.
Way to pull Lin out when had Lillard on ICE for most of the game.
There are 2 people that can keep up with Lillard and neither was given the opportunity.

This just angers me so much. And don't even want to bring in the discussion that we actually have a foul to give. Mchale is just clueless. Lin should be the one doing x's and o's for the last play.

Lillard was iced?
What is your definition of iced?

Yes, because McHale ordered the players to fall asleep and let Lillard get free.

I'm still pissed that it wasn't Beverley or Lin defending the last shot there's no excuse for that wide open look.

McHale wanted to put his fingerprint on the game. So he made a little defensive substitution.
Typical McHale being McHale.

TBH, Lillard was iced becuz we adjusted our PnR defense scenario. Howard & Asik were helping a lot for Lin to stop Lillard's driving. Lin still did a good job of recovering thou.

I doesn't matter who is guarding Lillard. I matters when nobody do help defense.

Lin has always been good at funneling, he is just not particularly good at fighting through picks (he has improved quite a bit) and it would really help if the big hedge when Lillard shoots the three off picks.

Oh I think he can guard through picks alright but when you have to pick up the slack of someone's defensive assignments...

Houston's problems don't end with Mchale's soon to be axing. Harden's been abysmal in the playoffs 2 years in a row. His lack of athleticism was on full display, and his attitude only compounds matters.
sorry Houston, it looks like you have an 80 mill fraud.

Isnt Lillard scoreless in the 4th until the shot? Then McFail pulls Lin out? McFrAud has to go. Though it prolly spared Lin the monumental hate of guarding the game winner.

Lin is a gambling man. A high-risk/high-reward type, typical of alphas. When he's not playing like this, of course, he kinda sucks.
If you know this about Lin and you play him, then you are a gambling man yourself. The gamble is, either Lin messes up big time (e.g., series-losing TO) or Lin's going to win you the game (e.g., dagger three).
I think McHale didn't put Lin on Lillard, although Lin had been pretty decent on him, because McHale's not a gambling man.
That's why McHale, in general, dislikes Lin. He knows that Lin's a gambling man, and McHale's conservative. He wants the sure thing, even if the sure thing's kinda mediocre.
By the same token, McHale won't get this team anywhere near a ring. These playoffs have shown us that, to win in this league, you gotta gamble a little.
