If true, next season's a write-off. Everybody knows whether you're a new or old Rockets fan that the biggest upgrade that we can make right now is at the head coaching position. We'd probably advance to the 2nd round at best using some lessons learned but no further.

I'm sorry but I'm sick and tired of hearing about McHale being "a player's coach". A player's coach keeps the star players happy by letting them do whatever they want, do we really want to see a repeat of this next year?? We have all the talent in the world, what we need is a true strategist and a hard-nosed coach, someone that will garner respect from the players and hold them accountable.

As of right now the players either do not follow instructions during the TOs, draw up their own plays on the infamous clipboard or let McHale babble then formulate their own strategy on the court once the timeout is over. The very reason why we keep botching plays down the stretch and in the final seconds.

If McHale stays, I don't see it getting much better, sorry.

FTR, I'm not fully buying into this report, too early to make this type of announcement. I would feel bad for McHale if he was to leave but it would be best for the team.

Me neither. Looks like a feeler from the team media to test fan reactions.

Also, they're milking McHale's HoF player status for free agency.

Not sure if McHale can be used as a proxy coach with a real brain assistant coach behind the scenes. His huge ego might get in the way.

McHale needs to go.

Like KungfuJoe said, even the 95 Bulls would not have won a dime with Mchale at the helm.
* Since 1985, Jeremy Lin became one of 15 players to have scored at least 20 points, seven assists and a steal for six games in a row, including 136 points in 5 starts beating out Iverson, Jordan and O'Neal :D

Damn, ESPN is picking up that report now. I've watched practically every game this season but If McHale comes back I'm done being a diehard fan, no sense in wasting so much time and energy when you know the championship will not be attainable.

I've heard that it was Lin that exposed McHale during timeout while setting up plays and in retaliation McHale would bench him. The players are not listening to McHale because he is not giving them any real solutions to in-game adjustments made by the other team and that is why Portland is able to catch up and win close games.

It's all on the coach.

Not only that, he is wasting another year of Howard' prime year.

Also run around more than the opponents (except for richest ones). Stop'em, and then score, then stop'em, score...etc...etc...

McHale coming back for next season

McSuck is a big man's coach. That era is over. This team needs a coach who could say NO to Harden.

A lot of great coaches last season who got eliminated in the playoffs like George Karl got fired and they decide to bring this hoax back?

I'm not excited about next season at all. I just want to fast forward to next years playoffs. I can't go through another long season just to see another first round exit. I wasn't for trading Parsons during the season but now I am, I've cut my emotional ties. We need to get better, sorry bev and chandler but we need Rondo.

Well, but it's just a rumor; maybe Morey's trying to get some feedback. We gotta do something, people who has Morey's Twitter should twit him.

I won't believe it until the team picks up the option.
