Welcome back Ariza. I actually liked him in his short time with us.

He's a good rebounder for SF which would allow Parsons to play some stretch PF if matched.

Got to hand it to Morey. Dallas tried to mess up their plans and now he takes our backup plan off the market and then matches Chandler. Well-played, sir well-played.
Maybe JET will get waived and we can pretend like its 2011 again.....

That's a good deal for him, based on other signings so far. I'm surprised he signed for that.
Fascinating. Houston could get 2 sought-after small forwards in the same off-season ...

Do we match Parsons now as well? Can't be too bad of an option to have a rotation of...
PG - Beverley/Nick Johnson
SG - Harden/Ariza
SF - Parsons/Ariza
PF - Jones/Parsons/D-Mo
C - Howard/D-Mo
I feel like if we don't re-sign Parsons our depth is extremely thin.

Re: Rockets sign Trevor Ariza - 4 years 32 million
I think we still gotta resign Parsons...right?
If Ariza can do what he did last season, this is a good signing (non contract year though...). I'm surprised he took an 8M per year sort deal when all indications were that he wanted a minimum 10. I'll be honest, I hated him the year he was with us. But we admittedly tried thrusting him into an almost "star" like role, which he's not suited for obviously.

Good deal, but this means no Aaron Brooks. You guys remember how they hated each other? haha

i will
but i don't think morey will
he has about 12 millions cap space to sign other free agents to fill the bench
hear he is working to re-sign daniels
c - howard, capela
pf - tjones, dmo
sf - ariza, hamilton/garcia/covington
sg - harden, daniels
pg - beverley, canaan, johnson
our bench suck
i hope we get brooks back to lead our bench
hope brooks and ariza are more mature now and can forget the past

Re: Rockets sign Trevor Ariza - 4 years 32 million
I like this move a lot. We need his skill set, which includes defense, 3-point shooting and running the floor well. I think Deng would have been a better option, but he would command over $10m. Now with Parsons, I definitely see us resigning him and have the flexibility to trade him if deemed necessary.

match parsons? or offer what we have left in cap space for bledsoe or monroe?
i rather spend the 12 million on two quality players
but not much option left
maybe it is time to bring rashard lewis home

Better fit than Parsons for half the price. Great signing.

Re: Rockets sign Trevor Ariza - 4 years 32 million
Remember when Ariza and Harden got tangled up at the end of the game and the ref called a holding foul on Ariza?
Parsons can bulk up to play PF. David Lee was a small forward his rookie season for the Knicks.

Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

i only would want bledsoe if we got him at bargain price...his recent injury history scares me...if we get him at a bargain, we can forget about matching parsons.

...Rockets could get Ariza, match Parsons, all while still preserving their MLE, BAE and $8.4M Lin TPE. Ideal scenario for Houston.
