The Jeremy Lin appreciation thread

It has been an eventful 2 years with Lin on the team.

Let's recap:

He was quick, especially his first step,
Image

He bleed for us,
Image

He took the shot for us,
Image

Tried to play through injuries for us,
Image

He took the fearless layup and landing on the floor every time...
Image

or get hit every time and not get a foul called,

Image

but he'll make a Rocket-like hit back occasionally, by accident of course,

Image

Just an all-round good guy who never complained,
Image

Let's give it up for my man, number 7, Jeremy Lin.

hahahahahaha dude you made me laugh

you are being sarcastic, right?

lin is a complete joke, you think if he was any good the rockets would trade him and give up a fist round pick in the process

so glad he is gone

I hate the Lakers but I hope Jeremy develops into an all star, seriously. I hope he makes us regret giving him up twice.

I can go with this. I also don't think we got a good return on this trade. At all. We'll see though. Good luck to him.

I actually grew to like him quite a bit. How couldn't you because he did whatever was asked of him to help the team. He worked hard. When they asked him to be a spot up shooter so mchale could just run iso harden he worked on his spotting up. I loved his fearless drives (but I always worried he was going to get hurt because he always fell awkwardly).

He had an annoying habit in his random jump stops with no plan but what player doesn't have an annoying habit? And his is easily fixable

I really do hope he does well and has a great season...I wish it wasn't in LA, but oh well.

Some of his fans got on our nerves (especially that one guy who had that clutch nation was redneck nation and always talked crap about our fan base) but I actually like Lin especially as a person...hoping he has a great season but the lakers still suck and he moves to a team I don't hate for 2015-16

Best Lin game as a Rocket? Triple double vs CLE? 9 threes vs PHI? 38pts vs SAS?

I'll be following Lin to the Lakers board and will continue to follow the Rockets with great interest. Since I am Canadian, the Cavs are my new favourite team though, contingent of Wiggins staying lol.

Thanks guys, this forum has been a pleasure to post in. The discussion and debates over the past couple of years have been civil for the most part and I've learned a lot from you guys. Thanks to the moderators for being classy, impartial and not letting environment become a hostile one. Best of luck to the Rockets, hope the team will continually get better.

Didn't he also rain threes on GSW when the Rockets were about to break the record.

Jwise I think there is no fixing that since that is apart of his game. High risk high reward. If he gets something close to a Parker tear drop shot than jebus. Basically it just has to be better than the Rafer Alston teardrop.

People might not understand Lin's popularity, which is fine, but you can't deny he tried his best while suiting up for us... which is more than you can say for a lot of players that have come and gone.

I hope he steps up in LA, not to spite Morey or his haters here, but because he's put his time in and deserves it now. He could have very easily gone Asik on us, but instead, adapted and made little complaint about it. And probably because of that, Morey/McHale continued to treat him like trash, instead of the player we gave a $25 mil contract to.

That's hard to decide as he's had so many highlights, clutch shooting, blocks from nowhere.

I'll have to go with when Harden wasn't playing :D

I see a lift in the entire team when it's Lin playing point instead of Harden, I believe Lin was happiest and played the best.

I'm going to miss the "first blood" posts now that both Lin & Asik are gone.

I do, too.

I also like your screen name/avatar combo. I think that I've told you this before. :D

Yeah you got to give props to Lin for acting like a professional through his benching and trade rumors. He could've easily pouted and demanded to be traded like Asik did last season but he didn't.

Best of luck to him in LA. Their roster is looking like a wasteland right now so I'm sure he'll get plenty of burn over there. Then after that he'll be a free agent and he can go play wherever he wants. Would not be surprised if he signs a below market contract to play for his hometown Warriors.

Nah he's gonna go somewhere he can play. Maybe Sac? I think he can beat out Darren Collison for the starting PG.

Its a fact that Lin is going to come out in one way or another on the Rockets depending on how his team does. Who on the team can contain him one on one?

Also he's smart, Lin probably knows more gameplans than McHale does and all the weaknesses on the team :D

He'll be fine :)

That big win through the OT against Portland to gain the HC advantage for us last season. His 31-pts game against Lowry/Raptors was big too.

I just want him to be a Knick again because New York is the only American city that I had ever lived in. Too bad Melo is still playing there.

I hate the Lakers tbh. But not as much as the Jazz/Blazers/Mavs. Hope he can prove Morey and McHair wrong...again!

How about Lakers send Lin and Nash to Brooklyn for Deron Williams? Or is Brooklyn not a part of NYC?
