Formerly known as the World Championship, it's the tournament inbetween Olympics. Starts Aug 30 to Sept 14 in Spain.
Team USA has made cuts down to 16 and both James Harden and Chandler Parsons are still on the squad. Harden is probably a lock to make the 12 man roster since he played in London in 2012.
I know he's a Mav now but I still hope Chandler makes it on the team
Right now the 16 finalists are (by position but not in any particular order)
C/PF: DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond, Kenneth Faried, Mason Plumlee
SF: Kevin Durant, Chandler Parsons, Kyle Korver, Gordon Hayward
PG: Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, Kyrie Irving, Derrick Rose
SG: James Harden, Klay Thompson, DeMar DeRozan
I would cut Korver, Rose, Plumlee and Hayward

coach K love Plumlee
i wouldn't be surprise is Korver make the team
they need shooter to spread the court
i think
C - Cousins, Davis, Plumlee
F - Durant, Parsons
F - Hayward, Thompson
G - Harden, Curry
G - Rose, Irving, Lilliard

You're probably right about Plums and Coach K but I think Jerry Colangelo has the final say on the roster.
We'll see I guess. Curry and Thompson are good enough shooters to make Korver irrelevant. Bulls are stupid to let Rose play.
Spain will be tough to beat with Gasol, Gasol, Ibaka, Rubio, Navarro, Fernandez, etc. Plus they have home court advantage. Will be interesting to watch how Sergio Llull performs. Shame he might have been a wasted pick.

Wow Kevin Durant has pulled out of the tournament. Wonder if Harden will follow. Good news for Parsons.

PLUMLEE
No wonder Kevin Durant pulled out of the tournament. And why did they cut Millsap? He was the best shooting big man not named Kevin Durant.

why should he? hes just become the leader of that team! good for the beard and good for the rockets!
Fact is that momentum in games is a real thing, while not tangible itself, you can tangibly see the effect it has when teams are on runs and how it can dramatically effect the outcome of games when you can generate any momentum.

Really hoping this ends up watchable via ESPN3. I don't have cable and I don't want to resort to "paying the iron price" if any GoT-watchers know what I mean...
