Figured we needed a thread
Brad Beal fractures hand
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11684005/bradley-beal-washington-wizards-fractured-left-wrist
The Washington Wizards are now recovering from another significant preseason injury: Promising guard Bradley Beal is expected to miss up to two months with a fractured left wrist.
Beal sustained the injury in the first half of Friday's exhibition game against the Charlotte Hornets in Greenville, South Carolina, when he was fouled by P.J. Hairston on a play at the basket. Beal remained in the game to shoot his free throws but did not return.
Kevin Durant fractures foot
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11688088/kevin-durant-oklahoma-city-thunder-fractured-foot
Oklahoma City will be without Kevin Durant for an undetermined amount of time, as the Thunder star has been diagnosed with a Jones fracture in his right foot.
The team announced Durant's injury in a press release, noting that this type of injury usually requires surgery and 6-8 weeks of recovery.
"We are in the process of collaboratively evaluating the most appropriate next steps with Kevin, his representatives, and Thunder medical personnel," general manager Sam Presti said in a statement. "Until a course of action is determined, we are unable to provide a timeline specific to Kevin's case."
Two of my favorite players and two great people. Get well soon fellas

Two Blazers I like had nice games: CJ McCollum (in Lillards absence) and Will Barton (always a spark). I wish these guys would get more opportunities in the regular season.
Fat Parsons goes 0-4 from 3.
Glen Rice Jr. got the start in place of injured Beal but missed a bunch. I like him though and this should be a great opportunity for bright minutes. I do think the Wizards miss Ariza, however. Too bad for them!

Bucks to start Giannis at PG tonight (WT)
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/235178/Bucks-To-Start-Giannis-Antetokounmpo-At-Point-Guard-In-Next-GameThe Milwaukee Bucks continue to experiment with Giannis Antetokounmpo at point guard and will start him in Tuesday's preseason game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Antetokounmpo will start with Khris Middleton and Jabari Parker on the wings, Ersan Ilyasova at power forward and Zaza Pachulia at center.
Antetokounmpo has grown to nearly seven feet with a 7'3 wingspan, but has flashed the playmaking skills of much smaller players in his brief NBA career.
"We've seen it in practice, and so when you see a player's comfort level with the ball no matter what size, we want to see it in game action," Jason Kidd said back in July. "We slowly have started letting him have the ball and running the offense."
We'll see how this goes on NBATV.

I'm personally looking for a big Jeremy Lamb bump and I think Ibaka will step up big as well and play like an All Star.

What a great piece on Derrick Rose:
http://espn.go.com/espn/feature/story/_ ... e-injuriesTHE LIFE DERRICK ROSE wants back is three days away, and not a thing in the world but time can bring it any closer. He must endure a little more, leaning against the wall in the corner during a break in a photo shoot, alone, doing calf stretches then touching his toes. When action in the private gym resumes, he won't dunk, rising until he hears the shutter click, then tucking the ball and landing as softly as he can. That's one of the many lessons he learned during his time away. Every dunk costs something, a debt that will demand payment months, even years, from now. He's about to turn 26. He wants to save his legs.
"Everything is starting up," he says, bracing for what's to come.
It's a Friday in late September. The Bulls report for preseason in 72 hours. The question of the past three years -- can he return to his career previously in progress? -- will soon have an answer, which everyone close to Derrick wants to hear, even if that answer is no. A cycle of injury and recovery finally has an end date, a month ahead and closing fast.
"Where's the first game?" his agent, B.J. Armstrong, asks, watching the action. "New York?"
Randall Hampton, Derrick's best friend since sixth grade and now his assistant, smiles.
"Yeah," Hampton says, "then Cleveland."

No I'm happy Jeremy will get a chance to prove himself. Hopefully not next week against us though. Will be interesting to see how physical Beverley gets and how Lin reacts to it.
Still rooting for both him and Parsons to succeed in the NBA.

I root for all guys to succeed as well, but I think Lin is a bit overrated. Bev should kill him.
That said, a return of Linsanity to Los Angeles could be a big story for the NBA.

Lin posted nice stats in preseason. 12 and 6 in 24 mpg. 21 PER.
Lets compare, Bev always had a below average PER, he averaged 8 and 2 in 19 mpg.
Bev can't "kill" anybody, unless you mean physically pester and abuse the opponent. Lin's style on pick and roll totally negates Bev's 1 on 1 lockdown style defense.
Not hating on Bev, I'm sure he's playing with huge chips on his body this entire season.
