The 2014-2015 Houston Rockets Regular Season General Topic

The season is back, and after a few weeks away so am I!

I've got a lot to catch up on with this team and the players who made the cut. We start of the season with a big one against the Lakers and all I can think going into this one is...why does it have to be so late???

Seriously - West Coast games are getting tougher and tougher for me.

Now that the season is here again everyone should take a moment to review the rules of the site posted here: viewtopic.php?f=191&t=1267696

Looking forward a fun and active Rockets season. As far as game threads go I want to remind everyone that while am not superstitious it is a clear, scientifically proven fact that game threads started by Mr. E are cursed. Thank you in advance to all of the Game Thread starters who clearly love this team and bravely save us all from the Mr. E Game Thread Curse.

Now I've got to go figure out who's on our Rockets this yeaar!

I'm going to use this for forum-related topics and yeah, just general talk if people want to say something but do not want to start a new thread.

Stein's Power Rankings 10/27:

http://espn.go.com/nba/powerrankings

1. San Antonio
2. Cleveland
3. Chicago
4. Clippers
5. Golden State
6. Dallas
7. Portland
8. Memphis
9. Toronto
10. Oklahoma City
11. Washington
12. Houston

It's still tantalizing to think about what sort of ceiling Houston might have had with Chris Bosh and a re-signed Chandler Parsons alongside Dwight Howard and James Harden. How much longer before we all move on and start re-focusing on what the Rockets still have as opposed to who left or who didn't join them?

13. Charlotte
14. Phoenix
15. Atlanta

look about right

i don think grizzlies raptors are better than the rockets

portland beat us in playoffs but i dont think they are better- the rest of the teams look better on paper than the rockets also the nets if healthy i think can kick our asses

to me we are 7 or 6 in west if howard does not misses too many games if he misses games we are not a playoff team

FIRST 5 GAMES I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A 4-1 RECORD i know all road games but still believe the other teams they are facing are weak the team must get to a good start the west is tough

@LAKERS @ UTAH @CELTICS @76ERS @ HEAT

Anybody see the Pelicans vs. Magic highlights? Omg Anthony Davis is gonna have a MVP caliber season. Him and Asik are gonna be a problem in the paint

But Morey promised us the pick we got from them was going to be a lottery pick. New Orleans could easily win the division if their backcourt stays healthy. Trading them Asik is going to haunt us for years.

Now that Dwight & Kobe have finally met on court can we be done with the "Why did Dwight Leave LA" story? The way that TNT and other media were promoting this you would have thought that Dwight just got off of a plane in Houston and just played his first game for the Rockets.

we need a backup center
DMo, Black, Dorsey are not the answer
TJones can't play backup center
we know Morey will not make a move just to make a move
he will wait for the right opportunity for the right player
how long can we wait?

is Bass the answer? we can use our TPE on him

Black has done ok so far but I agree he's not a long-term solution.

Guys will become available.

I don't disagree for the most part but what do you expect him to do? I don't expect him to score, but do want to see him get rebounds and hold his ground defensively. I think he can do that.

he did what he can do really well
problem is no shot blocker in the middle
everyone start attacking the basket when howard sit
black did a good job for jump up straight
if against star player ref will call a foul on him
need a rim protector backup center
unfortunately there aren't many option available

That's interesting. If he has the confidence of the GM, the players and the staff then it sounds like a very good situation for him.
