Josh Smith Pick-Up??

Post#1 » by PocketRockets » Mon Dec 22, 2014 6:33 pm

Let me go ahead and be the first to say no. First off, we already have enough firepower in my opinion and don't need more shots taken away from better shooters. And second, defensively we need to improve, J Smoove doesn't help that.

Seems pretty likely.

I wont like it if I were a Rockets fan, but anyway this season is lost for you guys, until Morey delivers his 3rd star he is just going to continue making good but non contender teams, and until he fires McHale there is no hope, so really, it doesnt matter.

No offense, Fischella, but I nearly threw up just now from seeing a line of Mavericks, Cardinals, and Cowboys logos on a Houston forum.

The only way you could have made the visual experience any worse is if your sig featured Beyonce, Puff Daddy, and Britney Spears performing a dance routing with Jerry Jones.

I'm going to go dip my head in turpentine now.

If it is dirt cheap and no longer then a year I am for it. Can't say that I would be super excited but the bench gets a little stronger.

He'd be a good backup big for Motie, especially if Jones is out for an extended period.

I seriously doubt anyone picks him up over the next 48 hours, so if he comes here on a good deal then it is a textbook low-risk, high-reward scenario.

I think he'll go to Dallas. They need big man help after losing Wright.

Is he a better player than Black or Dorsey? Ask yourself.

If you can get a player for Josh Smith's caliber for 2 million, you do it. For example, I hate Rondo's fit on this team but if he comes free. I'll grab him and ask question later. Josh smith is a huge value acquisition at his current asking price. If theres one thing i know about Morey, its that he aint gonna turn down value.

Ideally Dwight's frontcourt mate should be able to extend the D out to 3 point line but we've been playing crap shooters next to him all this time anyhow. Dmo is a career 28% 3pt shooter, Tjones is a career 30% 3pt shooter, Papa(who is playing mostly 4 nowadays) is a career 30% 3pt shooter.

Josh smith is a career 28% 3pt shooter. Its not great but its doable. Josh smith's presence wont change we way we play ball.

I dont see the fit, I understand he is friends with DH and all that….
Seems pretty likely to happen, and if it does, he is going to start and it will be because you give him the whole bi-annual, thats the edge you have over other teams like Dallas or LAC that can't offer a starting spot.

I think the fit is cleaner with Dallas or Clippers, the perfect one will be with Miami in my mind, but I doubt he consider them, they are not longer remarkable or important media wise.

We will see, but I honestly won't like him in my team, so I hope he picks you guys.

Maybe not center but he's still one of the best shot blockers in the league.
He has 1597 career blocked shots vs Dwight Howard's 1692 career blocks. Not too bad.
Smith has played in 781 NBA games vs 782 for Dwight.

I would still start Motiejunas though but it would be nice to have someone at PF wiht playoff experience
(edit sorry those were Howards' playoff stats LOL)
