McFail Refuses to Take Smith off the Starting Lineup

Smith is a mediocre player and has really put a dent on our offense. He excels at defending but on offence he bricks EVERY shot. It's insane to take the well deserved PF spot from DMo to this monstrosity.

he can start but he has to earn it. he hasnt earned it and he's still starting. do they know nothing of team chemistry? cant wait till next week to see if they're serious about benching kostas and keeping smith in the starting lineup, and playing harden and ariza heavy minutes despite a deep bench

No he can not. Rockets spent 3 years developing DMO and just as he has a break out and is contributing you bench him for Josh Smith ?

This is the main reason I didn't think Smith was a "low risk-high reward" scenario.
He's going to be on this team moving forward for the rest of the year and b/c of his "stature" he's likely going to be getting big minutes in our rotation and a starting spot when he simply isn't that good a player. I want to say we are overreacting b/c it's early, but he hasn't been a positive offensively in a long time, if ever. Can anyone say a sentence about Josh Smith with this team without repeating the same "If's" that have been said about him his whole career?

It's been so painful to see. Our very nice team mechanics have all been just shot to hell.
I can accept that we needed someone potentially to fill in for Jones, but we essentially traded Black for Smith, and Black was good.

There is a lot to criticize tonight, but I do want to acknowledge that Hall of Famer move by McHale tonight benching the entire starting lineup a few minutes into the third. So good to see, especially after the Wizards debacle.

I am a piston fan. I did not care for smith but never really hated him. After watching the last 4 Pistons game I am just speechless. Could s player be that cancerous?
Go Blue!

Hate to see it guys. You were playing super well before the blockhead showed up.
Josh Smith is a cancer. And now the world finally sees it...

w/ smith 2-3
w/ smith in starting lineup 1-3
w/ howard return from injured 5-5

This is Detroit's revenge for us sending back Sean Elliot (who wasn't a bad player but Horry was better)

Cut him while you can, Rockets. We did it for 26+ million, won't cost you much at all.

it is not mchales fault. He is forced to keep smith in starting lineup. He already expressed his opinion about this subject. He would like to keep Dmo in starting lineup, but he cant.

i dont think smith is entire problem ..him in the starting line up is ...floor spacing is so bad
i also dont believe howard is the problem either
the problem is kevin mchale and he is not going anywhere anytime soon
is not a good idea to start smith because the floor spacing is very very bad with smith in the starting lineup that is why they are making too many turnovers and taking bad shots
like bill worrell said makes more sense to have him coming off the bench and be the main guy of the 2nd unit like the grizzlies game
--------------------
mchale is stupid
he starts almost every game going inside to howard like the first 7 possessions of the game..howard back to the basket game is not good..hes not yao ming
now he is playing terry as a back up 1... terry is a 2
