Christian Wood - did I miss something?

I see the Wiretap headline that Christian Wood has signed a deal with the 76ers.
I thought that the Rockets signed him right after the draft. Did I miss something here?
That headline really surprised me.

The deal was just a verbal agreement I believe. But this is actually good because it gives the rockets some wiggle room to sign Harrell. Some people think Morey might have facilitated this signing to help the rockets get some room
