if u dunno who cyberx is, he posts on clutchfans sometimes with inside info. he's usually right.
Sources: Les Alexander has brought up a coaching change to Morey if things dont go as planned
Alexander has made it clear to Morey that he has had all the resources available to him and that if this team isnt connecting by All Star break then something will need to change.
If the Rockets dont make it to the WCF - expect changes in the summer.
Prelim talk, but Les has made it clear. He said, "I did my part, not you have to stick to your end of the deal".
Personal feelings aside...
i dont hate the guy but you know i cant end this w/o a mchale meme

i like McHale
i think he is a good coach
unfortunately i don't think he is the coach that this Rockets team need right now
we have the roster to compete for champion
we need the coach that can take us there
like i say many times
who is the right candidate to take us there?
i don't have the answer
Thibodeau?
he will work his players hard and they will suffer wear and tear come playoff time
he is good defensive coach but i don't think he's the right coach
JVG?
he doesn't like to take over team mid season
next season will be totally different
Howard may not come back (which is okay if Capela can gain more muscle and finally be the starter we're hoping for)
then we just need to clear enough cap space to go hard after Durant

im willing to stick it out with mchale but they 've got lots of work to do. i hope like hell they dont turn the last 5 min of every game into a drain the clock then shoot a 3 mini game. thats not gonna work.

This doesn't come as much of a surprise. This team is far too talented not to let anything get in their way of success. If a coaching change will help then they have to do it.

if they need a new coach then they can still keep mchale as an assistant. mchale would make a solid lead assistant coach. or any asst coach job. he's done a lot of good things for the rockets

Didn't he say Dekker needed surgery? I don't buy this guy and this is typical internet rumor.

I think that was another poster who said he was having lunch with someone in the Rockets org and Mchale texted that person about Dekker's back, but I could be totally wrong

McHale is a players coach. He doesn't actually have any coaching abilities. He actually said "I'm not an Xs and Os guy". His job is to keep the players happy doing anything they want and draw interest in FAs who want to play under a HoF.
If we get Howard to resign next year, McHale is out of here. We would have built a team roster that is as good as it gets. Therefore, the only upgrade would be an actual coach. It doesn't have to be a star coach like Thibs, one of Pops assistant coaches will do. We need to build the staff around the coach as well.

See the thing is, that's what they do every game. Attempt to drain the clock and jack up 3's. That formula doesn't work and that has to do with coaching. Any good coach would not allow that. A change was needed a couple years ago when we had Howard and Harden in their prime. I hope they don't waste anymore time. We need a coach taut will run set plays 48 minutes a game and will hold players liable. I understand Harden is a the face of the franchise but you still have to set boundaries. I would love a guy like Thibs

That strategy is Morey not McHale.

if it means making this season a wash, then make the change...just let bickerstaff be interim coach. the main thing is changing their offense/defense schemes. if mchale is willing to do that, then that is fine. the other issue with mchale are his rotations.

We need a coach who will actually run an offense rather than let Harden just ISO

I love McHale and think he has done a good job but there is nothing he can do to change Harden's mindset.
I feel like every game I have seen this year the team has looked better without Harden.
His defense is demoralizing, he stops the ball too much and dribbles the air out of the ball. This is the worst Rockets bball I have ever seen and I am disappointed in Harden.
There are a few bright spots in Dwight, Ariza, Harrell, Capela & Thornton. They dont deserve this and neither do we.
