Yeah, that's really bad.
But it's going to be hard to get Dwight more involved if he's going to be out for a minimum of 20 games this season.

He's going to be out for good next season if they don't find a way to get him more involved.

Re: Rockets players currently averaging more fga than Howard
I feel like Howard has stopped demanding the ball other than at low post. He stopped attempting the turnaround 2 step move unless he's in low post too and is more willing to pass out to reposition.
However our guys are still terrible post passers. Terry is good, but he doesn't get to play. Harden can pass to post, but he isos so often that everyone else just waits for him to shoot instead of trying to get open. Lawson is good too, but he's in a funk.

Re: Rockets players currently averaging more fga than Howard
Even worse if you look at FGA/36
1 James Harden 19.0
2 Marcus Thornton 16.3
3 K.J. McDaniels 15.6
4 Terrence Jones 13.7
5 Corey Brewer 12.7
6 Patrick Beverley 12.2
7 Trevor Ariza 11.5
8 Dwight Howard 10.0
This is the lowest usage Howard has seen since his rookie year.

Re: Rockets players currently averaging more fga than Howard
lmao thos enumbers are pathetic. kj gets 5 more than dwight! haha
now that i think of it, i wouldnt mind dwight shooting 45-50%, instead of his usual high 60%, if his to's can stay around 4-5. 15-20 shots a game at 45-50% is better than anythign anyone else cna do other than harden. dont get triple doubles with turnovers, then rocket shsould seroiusly consider this. work hard as hell on figuring out how to get him the **** ball!
20 fga fo rharden and dwight. both would get around 10-15fts. about 50 shots for everyone else. give ariza, marcus and terry 10 each, or 30 and the hot hand gets the most.
then wehn dmo comes back have him take the rest of the shots.

Re: Rockets players currently averaging more fga than Howard
Other than more opportunities on the PnR, what can the Rockets w/ Dwight on offense? He is a terrible post up player, turns the ball over like 25% of the time and doesn't have a good touch around the rim. So other than lobs and PnR, it's up to him to get scrap points from rebounds and easy dunks rather than being given more iso opportunities.

Howard ISO is pretty good in the low post. The problem arises if he has to dribble. There's countless times where I see Howard get position inside the restricted zone and still get ignored.

He doesn't suck in the post. He's actually solid, especiallyhis post up game. He's not Tim Duncan, but who the hell is??? He turns the ball over because he's so excited when he finally gets it that he wants to do too much. The Lakers thought saying "Dwight get the rebound" was a good idea. Well they won 45 games, got swept out of the first round, and lost Howawrd with nothing in return.
What's worse is big men don't like being ignored. When it happens for too long they stop rebounding and playing defense. If they can't at least get him 10-12 fga a game they're going to keep on doing poorly, and things will probabl get worse because Dwight will become disengaged.

dwight needs to get in a rhythm. he have a great touch around the rim. if he cant get into any rhythm he wont be a good post scorer. he needs to stay healthy and get consistent tocuhes. cant get either of them yet. hopefully when he does play b2b the team will remember to pass to the big black guy

He obviously needs to print out this post, and show it around the locker room-
