Hello Rockets fans! First off, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

I have been trying to analyze Terrence Jones today. Trying to find his strengths and weaknesses. There is only so much I can do based off of Youtube highlights. Anyone can look like an all-star in a mixtape or full-game highlight reel. I want the real. What are his weaknesses? What is that he needs to work on? What is he good at? Who else does he remind you of in the league?

My initial reactions are that he is a good finisher at the rim and a good 3 point shooter, improving every year in that category. I also see him as a pure athlete that uses his length and size to his advantage very well. Also, he appears to be a good ball handler (was a guard growing up in Portland).

Are these fairly on point? What are your initial reactions to him as a player?

Thank for help!!

Good, but slow and reluctant shooter at times, he will pump and drive even if the guy isn't closing out hard because he didn't want the shot which puts him in a weird position driving into the defense, has been good at finishing at the rim up until this season but the past few games he's been good again, he's a very good ball handler in transition but I feel like he tries to create for himself too much in the half court and should let others do that for him. He also over dribbles when he gets the ball near the rim which allows the defense to recover and he tends to get blocked because of it.
Despite his tools he is a bad defender, he cannot defend in space at all, which I think may be because of poor development on Houston's part because there's no reason for him to be so bad at it. And traditional bigs are just too big for him. I think he's best as a bench big that takes advantage of other teams benches. Although he's a bad one on one defender he is a good rim protector, would be better but his low awareness leaves him in bad positions defensively. The thing that makes me dislike him is how inconsistent he is. One night he will look awesome and others he just disappears and looks completely lost on both ends. He is still young though and can turn that around

Also a good offensive rebounder because of his motor but poor defensive one because he doesn't box out, but that appears to be a team wide epidemic
