Dwight Howard only taking 8.3 shots per game?

Outsider here looking in. I think that Dwight Howard needs more touches on the Block. In the half court it needs to go through his hands each time and he needs to be the focal point of the offensive. He is either going to get fouled (okay not a great FT shooter nothing new there) But if hes fed in the post he can find other perimeter shooters, or re-post. I have seen his game regress so much since leaving Orlando and its sad because you have a really Strong man being under utilized. Hes not a pick and roll player hes basically turning offensive rebounds in to points waiting for James and Co to shoot and miss to get his. He is so powerful when in the block he will get fouled or get a high % shot via hook, dunk or layup. He can still get other big's in foul trouble, and then your talking about 2nd 3rd "5s" rotation guys having to guard him increasing his % for even more better looks. Free throws the more he is there the better he can get. I think he is way too passive and is passes up opportunities because if it isn't a dunk or layup he passes out instead of working harder to draw a foul because he is poor free thrower. His shooting attempts are as as low as they were since he was a rookie. Dwight needs 15 shots a night, get the post activated John Blair. Dwight is more than just a clean up guy on offensive rebounds, You want to see your team succeed throw Howard the damn ball and let him work. Free throws miss or make, the clock is stopped when hes taking them, and he will never be a 90 % free throw shooter, but he cant just sit around and watch all the threes go up. He needs to touch the ball on every possession- the offense should run threw him. You give him chances and your going to see the guy that dominated For Orlando years ago. Get him on the block and the shots are pathetic hes getting. Corey brewer gets 7 shots up a nite and is rolloing around with a 29% shooting %. With Dwight your getting close range looks and if he misses you have Capella or TJ there. I used to coach and I see that all, ALL the shooter harden included will get easier looks playing a more inside out game. 8.3 shots/ game. Start there JB and bring back the fire to a guy who just looks like he is going through the motions. Much love to the HTOWN GL yall
