Game Thread 49: Rockets @ Thunder 1/29/16

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Fri Jan 29, 2016 7:21 pm

25-23, seventh place and playing a very good OKC team on the road.

I'm going to be most curious to see what kind of composure we see from the team throughout the game. It is no secret that these two teams don't seem to like each other very much, so I expect things to get testy.

I don't know who is out for tonight, but I did see that Harrell & McDaniels are both back up from McAllen. Who is going to step up for the Rockets tonight?

Go Rockets!

Dmo is back again as well, going to the D-League for a little while though to shake off rust

So glad we don't start the Clint-Dwight front court anymore. It was a stopgap solution that lead to turnovers and bad defense against teams with a shooter at the four

Does Dwight not want to play today? My god he looks bad. Maybe he's still hurting

I think I have been fairly patient as a Rockets fan. But for **** sake Howard, make your god damn **** free throws. A (Please Use More Appropriate Word) monkey could shoot better. You are a pro player, and you keep bricking this ****, it costs us games. I am fed up with it. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I agree with both sides of the argument, which is where it's hard. Players should make ft's. But on the other hand, if you foul a player who doesn't have the ball in their hands, then it is an unsportsmanlike foul, (FIBA rules) but then you can't do it in the last two minutes of a game. That is why it makes no sense to me.

This team has a lot of low basketball iq players. Harden, Howard (on D), Smith (every other game), Ty, and Dmo (RIP) are the only ones that differ from this. To make up for that you need a smart coach to prevent the low IQ mistakes. We don't have that. JBB might be good one day but that's not today

I don't like the argument that it would be bailing out players from having to shoot FT's if hacking was taken away, they would still have to shoot free throws as the result of actual basketball plays. As it is the hacking team gets bailed out of having to play defense. You can play all offensive players when hacking.

I swear, Howard would be better off turning sideways, and shooting his FT's like a baby hook, one handed. No follow through on the shot, it's ridiculous.

Dwight must not be feeling right. Hes lacking his usual explosiveness but playing hard.

Dwight deserves more respect than he gets. He is constantly taking elbows and not getting calls.
