I hope that he thrives there. Best of luck to him in his future.

I really enjoyed watching DMo grow as a player. I had given up on him as being a rotation player early on. When he got some real playing time last year he was worth the wait. I feel he is KMH best work as a coach here. DMo had a skill set to stick around the NBA for a long time --> Wish it was in Rocket Red

I know this move was made to save money --> that is what gets me upset. We are so cheap or DMo back is missed up beyond repair.

It's not strictly about the money. A probable lottery first is really good for any RFA especially a 7 foot RFA fresh off back surgery. Utah didn't get a good first for Kanter and I don't think OKC got a first at all for Jackson.

it was a 3 team trade (OKC, Utah, Detroit)
OKC traded Jackson, future 1st, and some players for Kanter and some players

I'm well aware. This first rounder is more valuable than any of the returns on that trade. DET won that trade easily

it depends how you look at it
OKC doesn't want to pay their backup PG 10+ million
so they traded him for something else
too bad Sam Presti only know how to draft
he suck at trading

They ended up playing a worse player more money (or at least the same amount) Reggie is really good. Probably didn't fit well but the point is neither they or Utah got good value like we did for Dmo. I saw that ~75% of players that have DMos surgery have more back problems throughout their careers. Maybe Morey didn't want to pay a health liability 15 mil or whatever number he will get. I LOVE Dmo. Probably was my favorite player. But this was a good deal for Houston once I got over my sadness that Dmo is gone

So true, I wish him only the best. He and Scola are two of my favorite players. Maybe he will beast in the East. Wish he would kept him. We have a draft to look forward too now. We got DMo in a weak draft so who knows.

Hopefully they can get Timothe Luwawu from overseas. He's expected to go in the late Lottery or just outside of it (where DET pick will likely be). He doesn't play much like him but he reminds me of Nic Batum in the way that he can be a super-role player kind of guy. He shoots 39% from three, attacks close outs (something Ariza can't do well), can run some pick and rolls, and guard 1-3 well. Probably never be an all star but that's what Harden is for

Buddy Hield stock better drop
we need shooter that can actually shoot

Luwawu can shoot. Only way we can get Buddy is if the pick ends up being 9 (unlikely) and his stock drops a tad

No they just had down the road concerns. They didn't know exact details until they got him checked out themselves.

every team has their own physician
they don't share the same system
that's why plenty of people visit different physician looking for second opinion
Houston said he is good to go
Detroit think it is questionable and they don't have enough time to look for third opinion
so they rather voided the trade than take the risk

Houston failed Elliott physical test
and he even made the all-star team few years later and won a ring
