Rockets/Warriors First Round, Game One

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Thu Apr 14, 2016 3:33 am

The two teams from last year's WCF have taken wildly divergent paths since then, but they meet once again to kick off the playoffs!

The regular season is in the books. Who is ready for some playoff basketball?

Go Rockets!

I haven't seen anything yet. I'm assuming they'll announce that tomorrow morning.

Just make it competitive please.....Harden play some defense cause you will be in the national spotlight......Dwight earn your next contract.....and Beverley do what you were signed to do (defense).....Bickerstaff actually learn some playcalls.....with that said, I have the Warriors in 4. :( Talking with my head not my heart

There's going to be a lot of frustrations. The environment in GS will be hostile and we will be playing a lot of 8 vs. 5 basketball, if you know what I mean. This team will have to overcome all of that. If they need to fix anything, better do it sooner than later.

Whatever the result was and whatever it will be, I am just glad that this team is back in the playoffs.

The Warriors don't need any help beating the Rockets in Oakland. Houston could steal one of the home games, but this won't last longer than five games.

I agree they don't need help. But you will see all the illegal screens, Draymond complaining, and Curry flopping.

Thank you! I think our expected value is maybe 1 win. Anything more than that I'd be happy. Would be nice to steal one of the first two games in Oakland just to put a bit of fear in the Warriors eyes and make the series interesting at least. That's all I can hope for.

Will anyone waste their time with making playoff sigs? I'd understand if people wouldn't want to bother.

You guys are at least full strength this time around, as I know it was the focal point of reasoning in last seasons battle. It would seem as though year on year, our chemistry as team has gotten stronger, whilst the Rockets has floundered a little. In saying that, the playoffs are a completely different ball game and the regular season is now an afterthought.

Good luck.

Honestly, the roster we have now is better than what we had when we faced Golden State last postseason.

Will Patrick Beverley give Stephen Curry the Westbrook treatment? How will Michael Beasley and Donatas Motiejunas contribute vs. Golden State? Will Dwight Howard bother to go 100% in the first couple games if things look bleak?

A lot of things will be answered when the series gets going, but I know for a fact that we're not winning a single game. This team can't fool me anymore, I know we're bad and there is no hope for us this series.

Hopefully I can get my hands on one for game 4 next Sunday. Will be nice to see Steph after watching Kobe before I leave Houston.

LOL. You're a kinder man than I am. "Floundered a little" is probably the understatement of the year!

But in all seriousness, yeah it is nice to have a healthy roster for a change. I have nothing to complain about now compared to last year's WCF when we had 2 old men running the PG and defending the best shooter of all-time, and Terrence freakin' Jones a main part of our power forward rotation.

Although Dwight has had a pretty poor regular season, he seems to step it up in the playoffs, he really digs in and gives it his all. His numbers tend to go up and he plays really well over all. But that fact is rarely brought to the attention of everyone as everyone likes to portray the narrative that he's washed up, doesn't try hard, he's "soft" or whatever negative light they want to present him in.

For everyone's sake, I hope we at least make this series a battle as no one likes to see a 20-point blowout every game - even fans from the victorious side. Best of luck as well.

Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming
