Would the rockets match a 10 mill per year deal?

In my opinion, yes. Especially with the cap projected to go up.

Skilled 7-footers don't grow on trees.

Morey is gonna pull the same crap as he did with Parsons. Wait for Durant to decide where he's going before dealing with dmo and the other free agents. Then vilifying him for signing an offer that they could easily match.

No, he was traded because he is an upcoming restricted free agent and they found a team willing to give a potential first round lottery pick for him. Terrence Jones is in the same situation, but it doesn't appear that he had that kind of value at the trade deadline.

The Rockets tried to work out an extension, but that never happened. They had to face the possibility of losing him for nothing or getting something back. They chose to get something back.

Once the trade was rescinded I viewed the situation as the Rockets most likely matching any deal within reason for Motiejunas. I do think that $10M is well within reason, especially with the upcoming cap figure.

I think he's worth 13 mill

Rockets will swing for the fences again this summer. Hopefully Motie, Durant and Horford all land in Houston.

It's getting embarrassing how often we've struck out on big free agents in the past ten years. Only Dwight.

I love Dmo but if we can't attract any free agents and can't make use of Dmo's kinda low caphold I don't think it's worth bringing him back

Durant and Horford will not come here. Best case scenario is getting Whiteside and re-sign DMo. We need to develop our young players (McDaniels, Dekker, Harrell). Hopefully we can get a better PG through trade. Brewer/Ariza/Beverley contract aren't bad for trade.

No doubt. Morey hasn't gotten it done on that front whatsoever.

But he has to take his shots or trade Harden.

Morey is a great GM. He turned a team a few years ago with very few assets to a team that finished 2nd last year and made it to the WCF. They sucked this year, but we can't blame him for a team inexplicably falling apart from one season to the next. Sure, our two superstars aren't exactly model leaders for a franchise, but I'll take that star power instead of a bunch of supposed "leaders" who aren't as productive on the court.

We still have a superstar SG and a lot of young assets. I'm curious to see what he can do in the off-season. Hopefully he can re-sign D-Mo and Beasley. Would love to see Whiteside in a Rockets uniform too. Brewer/Jones are gone for sure.

Realistic Rockets lineup next season...

PG - Beverley / Terry
SG - Harden / McDaniels
SF - Ariza / Dekker
PF - D-Mo / Beasley
C - Whiteside / Capela

Almost all young players that can grow together, and still a competitive roster that would likely make the playoffs.

Terry needs to retire. He made his stupid guarantee of a win last night and went 0-7 from the field. Giving a while new definition to Rocket Killer.

The nuggets disagreed I guess. He didn't really have an NBA skill set though, a shooting guard in a point guards body who couldn't really shoot threes

DMo is decent last season when he was giving consistent min (until he got hurt).
First two season he didn't get much time.
This year JBB start him for like 4 min then sit him for rest of the 1st quarter, just horrible.
