FA Targets High IQ only
None of this Durant nonsense, Morey better go after some smart players and some damn shooters this summer.
PG:
Conley probably as much of a pipe dream as Durant is.
Ish Smith for like the 5th time.
SF:
Dudley elite shooter likes Houston pretty positive he will be a Rocket. Replaces Brew.
Evan Turner elite ball handler off the bench much needed.
PF:
Holford would be a dream.
Bring back Motiejunas please.
Replace T. Jones with D. Arthur.
Teleovic is a legit shooter always kills us.
C:
Noah, we need more smart vocal players like him. Don't know much about his injury but his iq alone should keep him serviceable.
I see Dwight opting in for one more year unfortunately.
I would be happy if we got a few of these players. Any other fa that would fall into this "high iq" type player.

targeting high IQ players?
wow suddenly you sound like me
Conley problem is his health
what this team need is players that can create without hogging the ball
our offense hit a wall without Parsons and Lin

Wt has Horford

Plus Ryan Anderson. I love what Morey could pull off.

i think the news is based on a riddle on CF by someone with some inside info
the riddle is "birds, two type"
obviously only two team logo are birds, Hawks and Pelicans

Hopefully true rumor regardless.
Conley and Durant too.

it just mean those are the target Rockets are going after in free agent market
don't mean they will come
Durant is not going to leave OKC for Rockets
my top 2 candidates are Horford and Conley

Oh yeah? What's the word on this? He'd be a great fit, that's for sure.
I really want to get Teletovic over here after watching him a few times this past season.
Horford, Noah, Conley - lots of interesting names that you are mentioning here.

Re: FA Targets High IQ only
Not a FA signing but what do you guys think of a Trevor Ariza (30) - JJ Redick (31) straight up trade?
Redick isn't a PG but he's probably the best guard in the NBA to compliment Harden on offense with his catch and shoot skills.
Clippers need a SF. Paul Pierce and Wesley Johnson were bust signings and Pierce may retire. Jeff Green is a free agent and he didn't really show a whole lot after the trade to LA. Trevor Ariza has played with CP3 in New Orleans and he's a Los Angeles/UCLA product. He seems like a Doc Rivers kind of player and played well enough vs Clips in 2015 playoffs to make them interested. With Redick gone Doc can start Austin Rivers or look for a new starting shooting guard. I'm sure Steve Ballmer is gonna want some changes after getting bounced in the first round.
Rockets can then pursue a FA SF, like say Chandler Parsons if Durant and Barnes are not available.

Re: FA Targets High IQ only
Without Durant, it will be hard for Morey to make the Rockets legit. I want no part of Chandler-bang and his bad knees. Noah only played 2 games last year and he's only played over 67 games once in his career. Battum is the SF the Rockets should be aiming for. He's an upgrade over Ariza in every way and he would allow Morey to move Ariza for space and assets. The same goes for Conley and Beverley. Big IF'S, but if the Rockets could to sign Battum for around 18M and Conley around 20M and move Ariza, Beverley, and Brewer(with assets) for capspace, I think the Rockets would be able to still sign Horford for 25M with just enough space to fill the roster. A tall task, but the Rockets don't have many options to build a contender before the end of Harden's contract.
I think Frank Vogel would work great with that roster.

Re: FA Targets High IQ only
Morey will always looking to sign/trade for superstar. Big question for him is what does he want to do with Capela, Dekker, Harrell, and McDaniels. All 4 have talent to be regular rotation players, but Morey keep sign/trade players that will take their playing time away. Coach is always trying to win and most will play veteran over 0-3 years players. Bigger question for him is what to do with DMo and TJones?

Knicks are gonna try hard at Batum.
Batum 18M + Conley 20M + Horford 25M + Harden 16.7M = $89.7M for 4 players. Good luck with that. Especially with James making only the 4th most $$$ on the team.

Re: FA Targets High IQ only
Does Ryan Anderson have a rep as a high IQ player? Would he be a possibility to play SF, and not PF?

He knows his spots/how to get boards as a stretch 4. Would be near death at the 3 though and injuries are a concern.

Re: FA Targets High IQ only
When I pitched that idea I didn't calculate the numbers but I knew it wasn't that high. Actually those 4 would cost right under $80M. Capela, Dekker, KJ MCD, and Harrell gets the Rockets salary to exactly $87,179,164. With the cap expected to be $92M, that would leave the Rockets with $4,820,836 to fill the rest of the roster(at least 4 players). Of course Howard will be signed for the minimum then max dealtexasholdem wrote:red96 wrote:Without Durant, it will be hard for Morey to make the Rockets legit. If Harden has to be top 2 in Rockets salary then theyre screwed and were never truly interested in Durant or the Bosh/Parsons team from 2 years ago.
