A cistern built in 1926 will finally be opened to the public this upcoming Friday, May 13th. It has been abandoned for decades, and the original plan was to use it for storage...until people got down there and took a look at it. It's Romanesque architecture has held up over the decades and now the plan is to use it for concerts and other public venues. When not in use it will be open for people to take a cool walk on a hot Houston summer day.
I'm looking forward to checking it out!
