Tonight is the regular season debut of the Houston Rockets running Mike D'Antoni's offense with James Harden leading the way. There will be running, there will be shooting, there will be defense - yes, there will be defense. With Pat Beverley on the shelf for the first few weeks of the season the Rockets will be starting their expected 6th Man, Eric Gordon, as Harden's back court running mate. The two have shown in pre-season that their offenses seem to mesh well.

Ryan Anderson is looking to be the stretch-4 that everyone has always wanted for this team. Like Gordon, he is most likely to see the most open looks at the basket he has seen in his entire career. Both of the newcomers have benefited greatly from Harden's underrated passing ability.

Trevor Ariza will continue to bring a defensive presence while always being ready to take that 3 if need be. He, along with Clint Capela in the middle, will provide the bulk of the Rockets defensive pressure while benefiting offensively from the free-flowing system. Capela continues to improve in pick & roll situations, and he has a good mentor in Nene, who is showing a career resurgence in this new offense.

It's a late game, but I don't care - I'll be up for the entire game. I've missed regular season basketball, especially since it feels like we've been missing it since 2014/2015.

GO ROCKETS!!!

I usually hate west coast games but I don't have to work this week so I get to sleep in, so I'm not upset about this one

Yeah, West Coast games are terrible, but I'm too excited about the season being back so I'm ready to be tired tomorrow.

I'd rather Kj start or even brewer over Gordon.

Would definitely help our second unit on offense

I'm anxious to see dantonis rotations tonight. How much small ball and how much dekker are my 2 main points of interest

I know that he's covering minutes there, but isn't PF still his primary position?

D'Antoni said he sees him as mostly a center

Probably cause he can't shoot from range. He'll probably only play with Anderson and nene (or wiltjer when he gets pt) because dantoni wont like Capela and Harrell not being able to go out to the 3 point line (or at least deeper mid range in nenes case)

All I care about is coach Pringle does not go d'antoni and shrink his rotations. I want to see 9-10 people getting regular minutes.

Yeah, that's one of the big concerns about D'Antoni. Let's use that bench!

That would mean Brewer, Ennis, and Dekker (who I really like but don't think is ready) are getting big minutes. I don't like the sound of that

I want dekker...not brewer

Starting lineup+++ennis (bev when back), kj (or gordon depending on starting), dekker, Harrell and nene

That's 10 right there and with bev back it's 8 solids and 2 youngins with promise
