ROUND ONE: Houston Rockets vs. OKC Thunder

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Thu Apr 13, 2017 6:57 pm

Harden vs. Westbrook.

A well-oiled machine where all of the pieces fit vs. a guy playing out of his mind with a solid cast.

Let's face it - this is the first round match that everyone wanted since the All-Star Break. Houston exceeded the expectations of most "experts" as well as the fans of the NBA. James Harden just completed one of the most impressive single seasons for an offensive player and the D'Antoni offense as run by Houston will go down as an all-time best.

Playoffs start this Sunday, April 16th.

Who's got the first game thread?

Let's get the big sluggers on board. JWise is our ace here (undefeated), so I definitely recommend him :D. I can make for one of our road games. Who else we got?

I have only managed to recruit BallerTalk (much appreciated Baller) so far. Hoping to see if we can get more people to join our convo. A lot of us are too busy defending our team on the GB forum Too much hostility there.

This forum is better for people who want to discuss the game without people trying to argue left and right. We'll see what happens.

Unless Jeremy Lin gets traded here, I think we're good for many years. Can you believe that's it's been over a decade since we've been here? Goodness gracious!

Post#9 » by jwise44 » Sun Apr 16, 2017 2:09 pm

Playoffs are here fellas!! Who cares about Easter? (Although I'm getting some good homecooked cajun gumbo for Easter lunch :D )

Thunder

Pg-Russell Westbrook
Sg-Victor oladipo
Sf-Andre Roberson
Pf-taj Gibson
C-Steven Adams

Key bench-kanter, McDermott, sabonis, christon

Rockets

Pg-The beard
Sg-the captain now
Sf-A3za
Pf-the spaceman
C-cabeasta

Key bench- splash Gordon, sweet Lou, nene, montrezl, Troy Williams

We need playoff nicknames for the last 3 named...also when is dekker coming back?

I suggest staying out of general thread and just posting here because I assume there will be a ton of baiting

1) Dekker is expected back by the 2nd round.
2) I don't expect Troy Williams to get very many minutes, if any, with D'Antoni shortening the rotation.
3) You spelled Mr 94 Feet wrong.

ROCKETS BASKETBALL!!!

Hyped for this! The most hated team in the league* vs. the media darlings! MVP vs. MVP.

The Rockets need to avoid their dry spells. They cannot go on those scoreless streaks against any team that is in the playoffs. Get the game at their pace and control it from end to end. Finish strong, and do not let up if they build up a lead.

I think that these guys are ready to go!

GO ROCKETS!!!

*Golden State might object to that title

Complete BS that they're starting the Rockets game on NBA TV. I still won't add that channel for many reasons, but now you can add spite to the list. :nonono:
