Official Welcome to Houston, Chris Paul 7/14

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Tue Jul 11, 2017 6:54 pm

The Rockets have announced the press conference to officially welcome Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets organization. It will take place on Friday, July 14th at 2:00 PM.

I wonder who will be in attendance... ;)

I've hated Chris Paul since he came into the league so it will be weird for him to be a Rocket. It almost feels like Stockton or Malone signing on. :hoop: :sour:

I get where you're coming from and don't totally disagree, as I've never been a fan of his either...but come on now, man! Ease off that hyperbole!

Stockton and Malone belong in the lowest depths of Hell for all eternity. There is no comparison.

I don't LIKE Paul, but I don't HATE Paul?
I mean, if he makes the team do the pretty basketball, he makes the team do the pretty basketball, but I've always been very meh'ed by his individual game.

I mean, I like his efficiency? He's just so boring though, and he's "kinda whiny".

Hell, I just watched his top 10 career highlights to be sure, and got bored by #3.
Morey 2020.

Don't forget he's cursed like T-Mac was and never been past the 2nd round.

T-Mac never been to the 2nd round as the main guy or healthy (he did play in the final with the Spurs as the 15th guy)

i don't like CP3 either
he seems to act tough for first 3 quarters and then shy away in the 4th
hopefully having him mean Harden can save his energy for the 2nd half

i still remember Pablo Prigioni looking like an all star in that one playoff game vs CP.

Right now I'd argue that talent-wise at this stage in his career that he is a bigger acquisition than Dwight was a few years ago.

And Dwight was a huge addition at the time.

I'm still not sure about how this will work, but I trust Morey/D'Antoni/Harden/Paul/etc.

Stockton, Magic, Nash, Kidd, Oscar = all better than Paul. I'd say Zeke and Glove were better too. If we're going by playoff success, Tony Parker.

top 3 PG of all time?
he may not even be top 3 in today NBA
last season top 3 were (not in any particular order) Harden, Curry, Westbrook
he is good
i rank him as best playmaking PG in NBA right now
but i don't like his flop game and how he disappeared in 4th quarter
btw i don't like Harden either

anyway

for active players maybe
i would rank Stockton, Magic, Kidd over CP3

Is "in discussion for top 3 of all time" better for you guys? lol

FWIW I only have Magic and maybe Stockton ahead of him

Nash and Curry were two time MVPs and Oscar was one time MVP. All three guys better than Paul.

Wonder if Bullard will complain about Chris Paul's flops during the broadcast
