What the hell? A home game???

The Rockets return from a looooong road trip that saw a lot of success and ended with the Rockets toughest challenge to date. The results in Portland were the same and the Harden/Paul “Bad fit” combo remains undefeated.

This game against the Pellies features not one, but two of the premier big men in the current NBA. The Rockets feature one of the most potent offenses in NBA history paired with one of the league’s top-rated defenses.

It’s a normal start time, so let’s try to get there before the lower-bowl ticket holders show up.

GO ROCKETS!!!

Didn't know Harden had a bruised calf, but Davis is officially out for this one unfortunately.

Go Rockets!

What is the record for combined made threes in a game by both teams?

Good start on that so far.

That Harden to Swiss alley-oop is like deja-vu and it never gets old.

I’m not home yet. I see that a 1985 Denver Nuggets game is going on.

Takeaways:
Harden was AWESOME down the stretch... he played great defense (don't look now) and hit BIG shots down the stretch.
Moore and Holiday both were on fire, for Boogie's sake I'd like to see that more, just not against us next time.
CP3 kept us in it towards the end of the 3rd when he scored I think 10 straight.
I love this team.

The Pelicans were unbelievably hot last night, so I wouldn't expect that from them on every night. I'm not concerned as much about AD not playing because if he had then it is very likely those guys who were hot would not have been given license to shoot as much as they did.

What this comes down to is that Houston found a way to win again. They let the game get away from them at times, but showed once again that they are capable of recovering from such deficits relatively quickly.

Both in Portland & last night the opponents kind of looked dazed & confused by the fierce Rockets comebacks. You have to think that the other guys on the floor were thinking "are you kidding me? After all that they're only down by 5? By 3? Tied? What the hell...we're losing???" It just happens so fast.

This team is constructed ridiculously well. Go ahead and let the hater brigade churn out their outdated, tired narratives: this Rockets team is a different beast.

That has been the same impression I've had while watching GSW over the last 3 years, just ridiculous amounts of firepower mixed with highly competent defense and now we're currently tied at 11 on point differential. Look out, baby!

Watching this team feels weird (in a good way). Despite being down 14 and 13 late in the last two games, I was still fairly confident that we'd come back both times. I don't remember the last time I felt that way about the Rockets. The comeback almost seems impossible to stop once we cut the double-digit leads down to between 6-8 points. The train keeps rolling, baby.

I do, however, want to note that I hope the team isn't getting too cocky and comfortable in these situations. When we had an early 3rd quarter lead against Portland (72-67) and when we went up 50-44 against NO, I felt like we were two possessions away from cruise control -- but we obviously blew both leads. I'd like to see us get back to being in control of games early, but it's tough to complain about being 21-4.
