Spaceman Reborn - Ryno's Rockets Future

I know that "trade Ryan Anderson" seems to be at the top of every Rockets fans wish list this summer. The simple truth that everyone must face is that there may not be a taker for the guy at this time, even with all of Morey's Jedi powers.
So - again, hypothetically - let's say that Houston and Ryno remain together. Melo still gets here on some sort of deal.
What would the Spaceman have to do to get back in everyone's good graces?
I know that he really needs to get over the apparent fear of shooting he exhibited towards the end of last season, but a lot of that may have been injury.
What would make you, as a Rockets fan, happy with Ryan Anderson if he is still on the team? What role would you see for him? What kind of numbers would you expect on a consistent basis?

I don't mind Ryan Anderson, but with Melo and Tucker likely to be ahead of him, I would prefer the tax savings just so Tillman will be more able to spend in the future. I'm not sure he has much of a role on this team anymore, unless they plan on playing melo at the three which they shouldn't. He's still a helpful player, he just lost his spot here

https://hoopshype.com/2018/07/18/sacramento-kings-houston-rockets-ryan-anderson-trade-rumors/how about Ryno + draft rights to De'Anthony Melton + FRP to Sacto for Z-Bo and De'Aron Fox?

I’m hearing there might be more than smoke here.
Curious to see what would be the overall deal.

How would Rockets fans react if they were told that moving Anderson not only was not a priority for the Rockets, but also something that would be very unpopular with the team’s core players?
Just something to think about...

I hope they amnesty him so MDA can't freaking try playing him in a big moment again. He cost us huge against the Warriors. The guy's totally unplayable. Go ahead and save the luxury tax $ now so they don't get cheap down the road on us.

Amnesty-ing hasn't been a thing for years. You can't do that anymore. He's unplayable against the warriors but playable against everyone else

I meant the stretch provision sorry. He's a low end rotation player in the regular season at best. I'd prefer to just get rid of him.

I doubt the Rockets would be able to move him this season. Our best scenario would likely be to stay put with him this season, expect him to regain his confidence and have some sort of a role. Then trade him next year as an expiring contract where his value would likely be at all time high. Teams willing to rebuild and unload some contracts will be reaching out to us.
This is the most likely scenario imo.

I certainly agree he could have some value around the deadline next season as an expiring/buyout candidate.
So that's not the worst thing that could happen.
No one is going to be interested right now unless we take a bad deal in return.
I never understood what we were thinking on this deal.

I hope there is merit to these Ryno for Batum trade rumors. That would be more than I thought a team would give us for sure.
