Should the Rockets extend Gordon's contract?

Back in June, Jonathan Feigen, Zach Lowe & others brought up the possibility of the Rockets offering Eric Gordon a contract extension this season if the cap figures worked.
Houston is not averse to offering extensions before contracts end, as evidenced by Harden's super-max extensions. So would it be in the Rockets best interests to lock up Gordon beyond his current contract which ends in 2020?
How much / how long would be reasonable for Houston and acceptable to Gordon?

Saw Kelly Iko's tweet I presume? Lol
another Indy native (Like Gordon) pro player who just got invited to camp with the Pacers said it's happening very soon on Twitter. If it's about the same annual value for two additional years I'm happy

Difference now is that Rockets have no hope of cap space the next four years. CP, Harden and Clint take up the whole cap. Might as well lock EG in during that span

sure why not. he only has a year left after this season, so lock him up now.
