Yeah, they get MCW's $1.2M salary wiped off for tax purposes (they obviously already paid him most of that but now they won't have to pay taxes on it which would've been significantly more) and the Bulls get a few extra dollars for helping them out. Timing just has to do with the guarantee deadline being today. He would've become fully guaranteed instead of partially if not waived by today

Do y’all think we’ll use that roster spot on danuel or wait for buyouts? I guess like max says we still have melo to go so we can get a buy out player if we don’t find a trade

Yeah Danuel runs out of 2 way days at the end of the week. He probably gets this spot. They might try to dump Chriss at the deadline for a spot as well
