The Houston Rockets have agreed to acquire Iman Shumpert in a three-team trade with the Sacramento Kings and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Sacramento will acquire Alec Burks as part of the deal.

The Cavaliers will receive the contract of Brandon Knight, Marquese Chriss and a lottery protected first round pick in 2019.

Hope they flip Iman quick.

I wish we also got another big like jamaychal or Portis or Lopez. Faried is gonna be great off the bench when capela comes back but would kill for another big

I hate Iman cuz I think his bball IQ is the lowest I have seen from anyone in this league.

Staukas can stroke it, but ultimately I think this is a prep for a bigger piece. Mirotic or Ja. Green would be great.

Fan of this trade and can only hope this gets mike to expand his rotation. Only thing I am again is losing a first. When was the last time the Rockets held there own first?

Eh, they should flip Shumpert for a better SF or decent backup shooting PF.

Count me among those who are okay this move as well.
It's in keeping with the job Morey has done all season long.

The Rockets took a few fliers to start the season and those that haven't worked out (Anthony, MCW, Chriss) have been methodically shipped out and replaced with pickups that have performed exceedingly well (House, Rivers, Faried).
If it holds I can see this move lining up as well.

exactly, not like Knight and Chriss are doing anything
felt Knight wasn't giving enough opportunity
when CP3 is out he didn't even play much (guess not healthy)

also pissed we could've got Ellington and Richardson for Ryno
but now we have to gave up 1st and 2nd round picks + Melton (not like he's doing anything good now)

You know, between the off-season and the trade deadline, I think it’s safe to say that this is the worst 1 year stretch Morey’s had.

It’s still not bad. He didn’t have much breathing room, had to deal with really bad cards, and came out ok anyway.

I’m both impressed and unimpressed at the same time.

Over the course of the year Morey turned MCW, Melo, Ennis, Knight, and Chriss into Rivers, Shumpert, and Faried. The off-season was unkind to Morey, but to his credit he's wiped away all those disappointments. If we can bring in Ellington, and maybe bring Brewer back or get a deal done with House, that's not a bad quickie retooling. Especially considering the restraints being put on him by cheap ass Fertitta.

He was with the Grizzlies! He was awful fior Detroit too but the sample was small and they were just kind of a disaster post asb so I thought it was that, but nope, maybe it's something in the Memphis water that made him good

Yeah if you consider they apparently just had to duck the tax, Morey did well. The issue is they had to duck the tax. Shouts to fertitta.

duck the tax so we have 9M MLE instead of 5.6M tax payer MLE to work with next season
we sure know 5.6M isn't enough for quality player (we can't sign anyone last year with that money)

you get the full MLE when you aren't paying luxury tax
you get the taxpayer MLE when you are paying luxury tax
