2019 Off-Season Questions

Post#1 » by NYG » Sun Feb 10, 2019 7:10 pm

1. Who are your free agents and what percentage would you put on them re-signing?

2. What are your team needs and the overall short term goals of the team?

3. Is there any reason your coach may not be in place next year?

4. Who are you willing to trade?

1. Shumpert, Rivers, Faried, Green, Nene (PO)
Shumpert - we have his Bird right, my guess is around 10M per, but we have cheap owner
Green - he loves to play for his hometown, we can re-sign for veteran minimum
Nene - either opt-in or retired, i'm not so sure he will opt-out and sign for veteran minimum
Rivers/Faried - one will probably get the MLE and the other get the bi-annual exception

2. 3-D wings, need someone taller than 6'6"

3. MDA will return, Jeff Bzdelik not so sure

4. anyone but James Harden
it also depend what we get in return
we aren't going to trade rotation players for scrubs

$10m for Shumpert for a guy who can't even shoot? Highly doubt that.

If the Lakers mess leads to LeBron getting dealt, would Houston trade for him?

Yeaaaaaaaaaaah..... I'm still not comfortable with player valuations under the new cap.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?

Capela needs to develop a go to hook or short jumper this summer. Enough of just catching lobs for dunks. When that option is taken away, he is pretty useless offensively.

I think 'rentals' of stars is not a really big risk these days. If we get a chance, do it.
