I agree. Tell me how many playoff contenders are playing 3 rookies in their rotation?

Let's not get carried away. Brooks and Landry have impressed, but they haven't saved our season yet.

Landry still need to work on his defense
Brooks is not playing well as a PG
too early to praise them

It's true , if Brooks doesn't improve more in the next stretch of games we should look for another pg.
There is no way Alston should be playing 40 minutes again , he is the best we got but a lot of time he is not good enough and we need another guy.
Wehn Brooks plays well great , but when he struggles we can't rely on him or ion Rafer to play 40 minutes a game again , and it will be painful to see Luther at the point.

i agree they have been a spark off the bench. i can see landry maybe starting in a few years. once he fully understands the game and watches his fouls he could start. i still remember how so many people were ticked that we drafted another pg. thank goodness we did.

Brooks is playing well when he's playing SG (with Alston at PG)
lot of people just look at stats and think he played well as a PG
you actually have to watch the game to see Alston is running the team

we definitely don't need undersized SG
Szczerbiak took advantage of that yesterday immediately

That's the funny thing to me. The PG in our current system doesn't really have to create anything (i.e. breaking down his man), they just have to call and/or identify the sets and run them. And in terms of the PG initiating the offense there is like maybe 3 major sets to remember... it's not hard.

if it's not hard
i wonder why Francis, James, Head, Brooks can't do it better than Alston

That's why I found it funny, it's because they are actually that bad at it. But this isn't the only reason Alston gets minutes it's also because he's our best defender at the position by far.

Or maybe Alston is just that good at it. If you don't need a real point guard in this system, why does everyone keep calling for Mike Bibby?

Alston can do it yeah, that and his defense is why he's starting. But if you think about it there are probably more PG's in the league who can do it than those who can't.

And I never said you don't need a real PG, I said you don't need one who creates, they just need to run the sets and of course not be a liability on defense (which Head and Brooks most certainly are).
