Do you folks feel that Chuck Hayes' minutes has gone down quite a bit? Landry can play hustle basketball like Hayes. Landry is a finisher. He can "Throw It Down", and he can shoot freethrows. Can Hayes do that?

Do you folks see a role switch in the near future? I.E., Landry to replace Hayes as starter.

Of course he is. He can finish. He can rebound. He isn't the defender Hayes is though so as matchups determine I can see Hayes playing heavy mins. Just depends on who he has to guard.

It's still early to tell, remember he's gonna be competing with Scola for that starting spot. Scola is more refined offensively and also hustles. But I do see Hayes seeing reduced minutes with Landry's emergence.

Hayes played 7 minutes.

But still I think this is gonna be a match up thing.

Damn that's harsh.... Chuck's been good for the Rockets but if Landry can outperform him, all the better for the team.

Landry still need to learn how to stay out of foul trouble to keep Hayes on the bench

adelman needs to bench hayes and start scola and let landry be the backup.

He's earning the minutes. It's just his defense which all rookies struggle with. It's amazing how productive he is even given that. If he can go through his growing pains now while we're still winning and get into the PO's it only bodes well for us. People should be happy this is exactly the kind of thing JVG would never have done.

He played Luther Head and Chuck Hayes in 2005-2006. Hayes in particular stole minutes from prized FA acquisition Stromile Swift.

Spanoulis is garbage and didn't deserve any non-garbage minutes. Novak was (and is) too one dimensional to play.

JVG played Hayes based on his defensive ability. Landry, nor Brooks would have gotten the chance to play under JVG IMO, just because lack of experience, and the fact that they don't come prepared defensivly. JVG wouldn't have changed that lineup from last season, and the rotation would have remiained the same except I think he would have played Scola, and James play more. I also think that if JVG was here Bonzi wouldn't be here, along with SF3, but he hasn't been much help to us, although I think come playoff time, were going to be using the vets as much as possible.

landry should have gotten these minutes a long time ago. hayes sucked from the beginning. no defense can compensate for utter suckiness on offense.

It's more like Chuck Hayes is stealing Landry's minutes....

Well to be fair, we had a lot of injuries that season, I mean the league had to grant us two injury exceptions, so we played whatever live body we had and Head happened to play pretty well.

The match up really affects this decision in the end. You guys are forgetting that it was Chuck Hayes that drew that key charge in Game 2 against Utah, and it's Chuck Hayes that swiped the ball out Kevin Durant's hands in that recent game.

Scola should have been starting since the beginning of the season. Hayes is a good defender and rebounder but that's pretty much it. Landry is becoming, if not already, a better player than Hayes. Scola was a better player from the start.

Until Hayes learns to make wide open layups, he shouldn't get the playing time. The other teams play off of him and double everyone else because they know he can't even finish when he's wide open right underneath the basket.

Scola should start with Landry and Hayes splitting time off the bench depending on the matchups. At the end of a close game on a defensive possession, Hayes should be in the game, just like Ryan Bowen usually was.

Landry is a great energy player to bring off bench. But does anyone here think he could guard Duncan or Boozer for 30 minutes?
