I just feel that from what I can see since coming back from the injury, our team has eventually found our way to win games. Mac was even surprised about playing with 3 other rookies in 4th Q, I reckon tmac is one of the biggest reasons that the bench players are stepping up.. which is good when the starting 5s is having a bad night.

Since tmac will have to play through the pain for rest of the season, and since our chemistry is starting to flow, why don't we keep it this way for the rest of season? we really need our bench players to step up.

Call me crazy or lock this thread if the mods want...lol

If the Rockets keep on winning like this, sure, let Tmac be the 6th man.

If it helps the Rockets in winning games, bench Yao as well.

No. Just mix and match the lineups to get him playing with the rookies if that works. No reason for him to be the sixth man. For now he can be but once he gets his stamina fully back he should be starting. Better teams IMO than Seattle and Portland would have beaten us. We were struggling for long stretches in that game...stretches in which McGrady was on the bench. Those teams lets us stick around and McGrady finished 1 in Seattle and helped finished the other in Portland.

If we can get off to better 1st and 3rd quarter starts without McGrady then yea keep him on the bench but chances are we won't be able to do that.

Hell no. You saw we sucked in the 1st quater not only last night. so NO

If he gets 34-40 minutes every game I don't care but I strill think he should start.
What we need to do is find a way so he can start the 4th quarter , when he started he always sat out the first 6-7 minutes of the 2nd quarter and the first 4-5 minutes of the 4th qurater , we can't afford to give him more than 2 minutes rest in the 4th.

i think it's time to start our "A-lineup." -> alston, tmac, battier, scola, and yao. we can't afford tmac to stay on the bench to start games b/c when we play the good teams and they start out on runs, it's hard to fight from behind. but tmac on this lineup can be used as the PG, he can get scola and yao going.

but i prefer only playing him 8 minutes in the first. let him rest the last 4 and let him play with the 2nd unit. that unit of brooks, tmac, bonzi, scola, and landry was RIDICULOUSLY good.

yao needs either scola or landry with him though. no more hayes please. yao needs his space to operate.

portland played great D on our stars last night as they zone and double our stars even before they touch the ball. they really didn't respect our 4. scola and landry got really wide open shots too (they finished while hayes didn't).

hopefully teams will start to respect them and our stars get more room to operate

i agree...i also think that not letting tmac start will be a shot to his ego and you know how volatile tmac's confidence can be...

i think tmac off the bench allows our luther head and rafer alston to score more

i dont think t-mac should be the 6th man. think about if we are losing real bad in the 1st, and we have to catch up...we cant depend on t-mac to give us a boost

T-Mac 6th man or not is up to Adelman and T-Mac
but we absolutely need to put Landry in there playing with T-Mac
Landry is getting those same passes as Hayes and he finished them

Yea McGrady should always be on the floor with Head, Battier, Yao and Landry. That lineup with McGrady would be unstoppable. You got shooters and guys who can catch and finish McGrady's passes around the basket.

I don't think its a wise idea to play Tmac off the bench. I may be wrong but out of the 4 games that Tmac has played off the bench the Rockets had to come from behind 3 times. Tmac and the rockets would be better off playing him in the starting lineup. I really think that if the rockets did trade for a guy like Mike Miller and played him off the bench (or start)t he could be that third scorer who could lift the team to the next level.

the thing is we hae guys who can finish around the rim consistently. that's how we finish games.

previously, tmac would drive and dish out to 3pt shooters and u can't rely on 3s. we have landry who can finish around the paint and scola with the mid-range shot.

plus it's good to have tmac fresh as he's not exerting too much energy in the first 3 quarters.

let's see if ew still have a tendency to choke.

Do you want to do that against good teams such as suns, spurs, jazz, and mavs because I doubt it would be easy to come from behind playing against them.
