Dinner's on Mutombo

On the team bus heading back to the hotel after Thursday's voluntary practice, Rockets center Dikembe Mutombo announced he was taking the team to dinner.

There were a few players with plans, but Yao Ming, Shane Battier, Chuck Hayes, Luther Head, Luis Scola, Carl Landry and Mutombo

mutombo was brought back for one more year and i dont think it was to play too much ball. he provides so much more than playing backup to yao. its nice to see most of them do something together as a team outside the court. he is our turiaf. i always see mutombo cheering on the bench whenever a big play is made. coming into the 2nd half, lets see if his teammates can give him something to really cheer about.

This is a thing thats been going on now since T-Mac and Sura came in 04-05. The team always spent time together. This is nothing new. And McGrady always seems to snatch up the rookies. He and Head always seemed to hang out in Head's first year. Like I said this has been going on now for a while. There has never been a problem with chemistry on this team...just a lack of talent when it mattered most.
