Ok now It will be my long long post :)

It is always a bad feelin' when your favourite team lose. And especially when your team won 4 straight games before that. But NBA season is a tough and long season, you will win you will lose. I know we need wins but Utah is a good team. And I will say it again. We're gonna have the easiest month commin' up. Let's hope we will be able to win a lot of games and find our spot in the playoffs.

Golden State is a great team. They play NO DEFENSE but as Suns they are just to good offensivly, that's why they win that many games. I belive it will be a good chance to shut them up with our defense. I don't belive we can play that great offense (well maybe we will be able to also play uptempo with Yao out) but we can play defense. Of course McGrady and the rest of those guys need to take adventage that GS cannot defend. This is a shootin' team. If they do not make 3s they are done, they are nothing without 3s. So we just need to contest those shoots, contest and rebound the ball cause hell yes they are also a good reboundin' team. WHat's the worst they are the team that will beat you in 2-3 minutes of the game. It may be a tie game, but they just need to get that feelin', that moment. They need a few minutes to knock down several 3s in a row and that's how they play, how they played last meetin' agains us.

Here are some points that we need to do well cause we need to win.

- Stay agressive. This is the most important thing. Pass the ball, run, run run, find an open spot on the floor. We didin't do that against Jazz. Pas the ball for example on the post to Tracy and hell run, do not stay and watch what Tracy's gonna do. RUN !

- Get to the ft line but make them. 50%, under 50%? It cannot happen.

- Of course defense. Make them take tough shoots, rebound the ball don't give the 2nd chance opportunities cause it may kill us.

- Transition defense. Is key. Remember last mettin'? We played great for 3 quaters (without McGrady) and then they knocked down 7 3s in the forth, big part of them in transition.

- Control the paint but also make open outside shoots.

- Do not give up. These are very important games for us. I know it's gonna be a tough night but compete, fight.

- Put McGrady on Baron Davis. I remember last year JVG did it with T-Mac on Nash and it worked. McGrady is quick enough to stay with Baron and he's taller and stronger. Baron would love to post up against Rafer - missmatch. Just make Baron Davis work hard, put McGrady on him please.

- T-Mac : attack, attack, attack ! Stay agressive as the whole team.

- Take adventage of home court, it should be a nice thing for us to play here, not something like penalty.

Again, Rockets, T-Mac stay agressive, pass, run, pass run. Just move the ball and move your ass. We can win this game. I'm sure Novak will play a lot cause he can shoot. I know he sucks at defense and he cannot rebound but hell he is unbelivable shooter. I'd even like to see us runnin' some plays for him.

And Tracy do not dominate the ball, try to play off the ball, post up, something like that. Less pick and rolls.

Go Rockets !

BTW:

Will Yao play? I heard he won't.

Yao apparently practiced today so signs point to him playing tomorrow:
http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2008/01/rock ... trans.html

This team is just such a bad match-up for us, I see another loss here, even though the Warrior's have been struggling against weak opponents lately. This is exactly the type of game they'll look to dominate and boost their confidence.

The Warrior's weakness is strong PG play with penetration and interior passing which is exactly what Hou lacks. Yao will not get many tradition post-up opportunities so he will have to crash the boards hard. T-Mac will need to be aggressive attacking the rim.

Brooks vs Ellis will be an interesting match-up if we get to see it.

I dont know.... Some of those pics borders on the extreme, especially the Yao one. But if it helps relieve him of his struggle against GS, i say go for it!!!

Weren't you saying the same thing about Utah? I wonder how that turned out?

Oh btw yesterday the Rockets could not get the fast break going, and this time you can't blame Yao for it.

Don't worry about him. It's the world against Yao to him, and he's Yao's only protector of the moral injustice that is Yao in the high post. It's all a conspiracy!

I don't expect a win, Yao or no Yao.

We don't matchup well with this team at all. Monta is playing better than anybody on our team recently, Baron is Baron, and we can't contain them for a full 48 minutes, they'll go on their spurts and unfortunately we don't have anything close to even coming to match that. Not to mention we are at home, where we suck.

24-21 :sigh:

Tom Heinsohn, a Hall of Famer and multiple time NBA Champion, put it best: "What is a 7'6" guy doing in the high post?"

You know, I know, everyone and their dog (except the incompetent imbecile Adelman, who wants to make Yao play like Vlade Divac) knows that Yao doesn't belong there.

key is play our own rhythm, don't be pushed to run around. suppress their speed, kill the fast breaks ahead of time, even in the cost of early fouls. choke the warriors in the cradle!!! go rockets!!!

For the rockets to win agains the warriors, they need to control the rebounds. Warriors can get hot but they won't be hot the whole game and they will miss. Rockets need to stop Warriors' 2nd chance opportunities and increase Rockets' by grabbing more offensive rebounds.

If Yao can get more offensive rebounds, he will able to stop Warriors' fast break and score from those rebounds easily too. Warriors' fronting defense may be effective in preventing Yao getting good touches, but they can't prevent yao from going after the offensive rebounds.

The other rockets need to play smart, don't shoot quick 3 pters when Yao and Rockets big like Scola/Landry are away from the basket.

Yao mentioned that it will be important for him to get on the offensive glass today since he knows GS will front/double him.

But to go with this strategy we must drive more, which Yao also said. Long shots = long rebounds = transition opportunities for GS. Layup attempts usually result in short rebounds right under the basket, which should mostly go to Yao if he is being fronted.

Webber is going to be rusty and have to battle a seasoned Yao, Scola, Hayes and Landry for the boards. I hope Yao gives him a knee or hip check to permanently put him into retirement.
