Doubt it, I don't think we can should trade anyways. We have been playing well and we don't need anything to happen right now. If it was the summer time I would go for it, but I think its an excellent move by the Rockets not to trade right now, unless its tor a role player. But, we don't need anyone else to mess up the Chemistry. We are a Spurs-Like team. We feed off of Defense, we need to keep this lineup and we are playing well with these group of guys. Jason Kidd won't excel our team in the playoffs either. He is old now, if we want a PG we should just keep Rafer. Nobody else knows how to run the same plays over and over again for Yao and T-Mac better than Rafer. He just makes us go, so we should just continue to win with this and see how we do about making the playoffs and if we make them then how we do in the playoffs. In the summer time, well I could say it would be better then than now.

Oh please man.
Kidd>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Alston.
Last time I checked Alston wasn't a great shooter neither , Kidd is a much better defender , rebounder , passer , pretty much anything besides shooting which is about the same.
I will bet my lif on it that he can get the ball to Yao and run this team better than Rafer.

His point is that Kidd is a bad fit, not that he's a bad player. It's just not worth the gamble with Kidd considering his contract.
PG is one of our team's weaknesses right now everybody knows that, but the other is shooting. We need a scoring PG and there are plenty of those around the league so we can get one cheap if we wait for one either in the draft or grabbing one from another team when the timing is right. It's not worth to mortgage our future with Kidd especially considering Kidd will not get us over the hump.

That is easy to fix then. How about Mo Williams for Battier/Aaron Brooks?
Well, not at the expense of our best defender/glud guy, and our future PG. I would trade Brooks in a package for Williams, but by trading Battier, we clog one whole and open another.

Oops he costs $20 million/yr, is 34, and doesn't solve our PG shooting woes. Darn darn darn. We don't have any problems teamwise with rebounding, PG hasn't been causing troubles with passing, he might be an upgrade defensively, but Alston is no slouch. That leaves shooting as the one aspect of PG that we really want to upgrade. I think it's much more realistic to try and upgrade our shooting through SG/SF spot (as stated several times recently) than to insist that we get a PG that can shoot (also as listed many times, these guys are generally expensive or untouchable All-Stars. Kidd falling into the former category)
The most realistic choice for an upgrade at PG is Bibby, and he's gonna be hard for us to get. Steve Blake might be an option if he's not untouchable (why in the world would portland want to trade him?) or overpriced (for us. No way I'd trade him at market value to an in-division rival if I'm Portland though). Basically, we aren't getting Steve Blake.
Don't expect a good PG trade with us.

Why would Milwaukee want to give up Mo? That trade also leaves us with a gaping hole at SF.
In other words, what RoxFan08 said.

Please take our shoot first, shoot second no defensive playing guards.

I guess that "prone to defense lapses" thing I read on his player description wasn't an exaggeration? I haven't seen him play

Ballfan24 wrote:No to Kidd, Id rather go after someone without giving up Battier, like Mike Miller. Miller is obtainable because the Grizz just want expirings and picks, which we have.

... Actually that might not be the right thread.
We don't have any expirings other than Sura, and would probably have to toss in Scola or Brooks, maybe someone else and picks, too.
My point is, sure it would be great to have Miller, but there's still the question of how do we actually get him?
