What's wrong with TMac lately?

Wow, tonight's game summarized it all - 1:05 left on the clock in the 4th quarter in a tight game, TMac looks like he is driving to the hoop, and instead of trying to dunk it, he panicks and dishes off a weak pass to Yao, with Sacramento defenders' hands all over Yao's arms and to break up the pass, and not surprisingly, a resulting TO.

Then Clyde Drexler and Bill Worrell remark that TMac should have just gone for the dunk, and if he didn't get the dunk, he would have gotten the foul called.

I don't get it ... game on the line, 1 minute left, and our big superstar who has done nothing all game can't even help us close out the game. We were desperately in need of offense in the 4th quarter and TMac disappeared like a scrub. Not to mention his 3-12 shooting tonight.

Let's look at his last 4 games:

3-11 shooting, 8 points (vs. Cavs)
5-14 shooting, 15 points (vs. Hawks)
6-15 shooting, 15 points (vs. Portland)
3-12 shooting, 10 points (vs. Kings)

That's 17-52 shooting, for an average of 12 points per game, in the last 4 games :nonono:

Gone is the TMac who scored 13 points in 33 seconds a few years ago, and this is what we have left.

Can't believe what I saw tonight. Had we lost, the loss would have been all on TMac. There is no way Kobe would have made such a weak pass to Yao on the same drive. You know Kobe would have took it to the rack. Ditto for Lebron James.

BTW, to be fair, TMac was allowed the poor performance against the Cavs, because he was sick and seriously looked like s***. But tonight's effort was inexcusable :nonono:

If you read the game thread, we have already made our points clear and McGrady received enough criticism. Before we continue with this criticism, let's wait til the end of the all-star break to see if he can bounce back from his shooting woes.

he's sending a message to Morey that Rockets don't need him and can trade him away

I dunno about that. Had that been Rafer or Bonzi that drove that ball nobody would have left Novak. He took about 3 guys with him and he knew where Novak would be. McGrady is a very cerebral player. Problem is...hell I dunno what the problem is. Look he can't guard Artest. Battier can't guard Artest. But McGrady just didn't do anything in the 4th when the Kings made their run. Thats his time. I like Yao but passing into the post over and over and over makes you easy to stop as the Kings did down the stretch. Its called a duo b/c its ok to ride the big man for 3 quarters. But come 4th quarter time you as a star wing player has to take over the game.

Look we won...thats whats important and McGrady did create the biggest play of the night...nobody else on the team can do that. But I think we all know he has to be more aggressive with his shot in the 4th. Take it..make or miss...at least you took it. Don't just pass it and pass and pass it to Yao.

you can't tell i'm joking?

whenever T-Mac is not in the attack mode
he's usually struggle with his shots
right now he's trying to set up his teammates
but i like the way he pick up his defense lately

i was like WTH when he put Alston to shot the technical free throw
when he's actually shot better FT than Alston

maybe that whole depth perception crap at home thing is true.

Man if bad shooters like Rafer shoot better at home there is no depth perception problem.

Back to the game though. Didn't Artest just have an amazingly great game. I mean he must have been showcasing. Some of the shots he made no defense can stop. Off balanced long jumpers. Goodness.

i said it right before the game
Artest always lighted up against us
maybe because we got nobody who can match up with him
actually thought Hayes did a great job
didn't know why Adelman decided to go with T-Mac in the 4th

LOL I was like WTH when I saw that too. Most scorers like to go to the line to get their rhythm. It was obvious T-Mac was not looking for his shot all night, even when the game got tight.

And rocket zoom you don't need to tell us what Kobe and Lebron would do. They are in another stratosphere from T-Mac if it wasn't obvious to you by now.

Haven't seen him in a while, but yeah, he is awesome. Just a horrible mis-match of muscle and quickness. The only thing that stops me from jumping on the trade-for-him bandwagon is that I remember him getting grumpy in Indy over not getting enough touches. I think he wants to be on a team where he's the #1 option. Actually, after tonight's game he's got a good case ...

(Said this in the game thread but ... ) Bonzi was matching up on him real well I thought. He's got the right combo of bulk and speed required to man up on Artest.

The interesting thing I thought was that Artest was murdering Scola so bad that Adelman had to bench him which really stagnated the offense.

He's been strugglin'. I have already made a thread about it. He's been strugglin' at home. You see this guy scores 30 pts on the road without any problems and hell at home he can't do anything but pass. He knows he's not feelin' confidence at home so he is not agressive at all which is not a good thing.

Tracy's time is on the road. Yao's time is at TC.

Tracy is just not lookin' to score. 3 attempts in 24 minutes for a superstar? You gotta be kiddin'. But as I said he's not feelin' confident there so he tries to help the team in other way.

Thanks God he is healthly

Either Tracy has completely given up, or he's bottling up everything he has for the playoffs. If we make the playoffs, I have a feeling Bonzi and Mac are going to go on a tear.

And let me add something.

Do you guys remember games against Bucks and Wolves on the road? Yao got just owned by hilarious Bogut and than by Al Jefferson. ANd now Tracy had worse games.

They'll be okay :)

that could be possible, I can see a fire in Bonzis eyes..I think he wants it really bad....on McGrady, I think he only pushes when he thinks this is more important than anything else
