Prepare to do some serious knitting moofs. I have a feeling he will end up here unless he waits 30 days to re-sign with SA.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

This guy rolled his own ankle when he accidently step on his other foot after landing for a jump shot. No thanks. We have Novak to hit the big shot.

It would be nice to have him. But I believe he will be back with the Spurs.

sounds like the stackhouse wink wink deal.
sonics gm used to be with san antonio
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

He's still injured, he might as well stay in San antonio. By the time he'll get back from injury, would be t\\enough time for him to come back to SA. Unless Rockets have a better offer, which they don't. Or if SA doesn't want him

Yea, true. He probably will just end up back in SA but he's going to miss out on some wonderful prizes by not coming here.

A great veteran shooter who has plenty of playoffs experience. He's a solid role player for any championship contender.

If there was any advantage to signing with us over the Spurs then he'd come here, but unfortunately there isn't. Let's not delude ourselves into thinking that we have anything more than a half-reasonable chance of getting Barry.

I'd love Barry, very underrated play-maker, excellent shooter and has championship experience. IMO, he's a better fit on this team than Bonzi would be.

Unfortunately, he's likely going back to the Spurs. :(

HOUSTON -- Within minutes of the Seattle SuperSonics releasing guard Brent Barry Friday, the Houston Rockets were on the phone with Barry's agent, Arn Tellem, offering a two-year deal.

"We are offering the maximum allowed on a two-year contract," said Daryl Morey, Rockets General Manager. "We are in full pursuit."

And not just in the figurative sense. The Rockets are literally going after Barry.

"Coach (Rick) Adelman and I plan to go to San Antonio and meet with Brent," Morey said. "We want to give him the full treatment."

Barry's father, Rick, played for the Rockets during the 1978-1979 season and is a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. His brother, Jon, played for the Rockets for two years and is currently an NBA television analyst.

Brent Barry is a 13-year veteran. Including this season Barry played for the San Antonio Spurs for four years, helping them to two NBA titles. He was traded to Seattle Wednesday in the deal that sent Kurt Thomas to the Spurs. He was included to make the deal work financially and was released 48 hours later.

The Spurs would like to re-sign him. The Phoenix Suns, L.A. Lakers, and Boston Celtics have also expressed interest.

"We think Brent can be a key piece in our playoff run if we can get him," Morey said. "We think he can help us in a significant way."

The first day Barry can sign with any team is Tuesday.

what about luther head and bobby jackson if we get barry? barry is maybe better than bobby jackson at this point, more consistent, bobby 34 years old version players looks like the typical player with 1 good game every 5.

i think it has to be 12 right?
mcgrady battier alston yao and scola
landry hayes luther bobby barry
that leaves francis mutombo green and brooks
obviously francis wont be in and most likely not green either
it would come down to mutombo and brooks i guess

Brent would be great to have with his expierence and knowledge of the Spurs.

But the Spurs have the MLE. Wait 30 days and get more money and play for the better team? Or just get in it now?
