Here's Marc Stein's take on the Rockets:
The Rockets are two home W's away from a perfect February. And I'm sure they'll apologize for the fact that they've faced only four winning teams in an 11-0 month as soon as they get higher than seventh in the West.
And on the Wizards:
Arenas still isn't sure when he can come back. Butler was supposed to return after the All-Star break and still hasn't. But this is the Least, so the Wiz remain No. 6 in spite of their injury crisis and corresponding 2-10 slide.

Thye just beat NO so obviously they are very dangerous.
We just need to come out focused and with intenisty , if we can do that I can't see us losing.

this can be a slightly tougher game than chicago. they're coming off a big win but its the 2nd game of a back to back. hopefully we can contain stevenson and jamison. blatche has really improved his game. i think scola can hold him though.

We should win this but since the Wizards are coming off a big win id say they definitely have alot of momentum coming into this so we just need to play well on both ends of the floor

we need to take it to them early, destroy any hope they might have. keep the defensive effort up and we should be fine
go rockets!

Wiz fan here. If you look at our sked then you will see that weve lost a ton of games with the injuries but there all by like 1pt and were losing mostly to all great teams.
Honestly, I have always thought that even without Gil & Caron we would have still won alot of those close games if we had switched the lineup and our coach finally did it at halftime against the Hornets. We are a much better team if Mason starts and AD comes off the bench. It just makes sense for both units. I bet anything that if we didnt make that change at halftime then we wouldve lost to NO. Other then that I do feel like we matchup well with you guys.
I had to edit because I just heard about Yao. You know that our team knows alot about having terrible injuries ruin a season. You guys are always like my favorite team out West so I just hate to see that happened. I think you guys maybe should switch your style now and play like Adleman's old Kings & Blazers teams and just run to death

Alright well Yao is officially out for the season, BUT we still have to take care of business. I'm looking for T-mac to come out aggressive tonight, to get some quality minutes of Mutombo, and for our role players to step it up just a notch higher which they're fully capable of doing. It's too late in the season to hang our heads, so we have to come fighting and we absolutely can not lose our confidence/swagger.
Go Rockets.

We've already lost if they are slightly tougher than Chicago. Honestly without Yao in the paint, Blatche and Haywood are gonna abuse the paint. Landry, Scola, Hayes better bring their beast on in this game. Landry should just turn into the Incredible Hulk and play with brute force brutality.

start Green and go small
Scola
Battier
Green
Mcgrady
Alston
we need to play small ball ala Phoenix Suns when stat was out, can someone pull out their roster, they only had a rotation of 7-8 players and made it to game 6 of western conference playoffs.
this will develop green and landry can still come off the bench

Start Green....
I know you're still shocked by the loss of Yao but come on. This guy couldn't even get off the bench for the Puppies. If we start Scola at center and green at SF, we'll go from one of the best defensive team to a historically bad Defensive team.

ok so what do you suggest we do, mr.genius
you put in hayes in there and there goes offense and t-mac will get doubled like no tommorrow
you put landry in there and whose gonna come off the bench and provide some spark
you put in jackson and see landry above
the rockets have no other choice bUT to go small and starting green is the best option right now

I'm no genius but i'm smart enough to realize that you CANT rely on a raw swingman that probably couldn't even start on a decent college team. Gerald Green is NOT ready. He has no clue what team basketball is about. He's awful defensively and lost on offense. I'll sooner start Novak than Green.
As for the starting 5. I'll go with...
1.Alston/B-jax
2.Tmac/ Head
3.Battier/ Tmac/Novak
4.Scola/Landry/Hayes
5.Landry/Mutombo/ Hayes

Who the **** put up that picture on the game thread? He needs to suspend himself for a week and think about what he did...

Had this news broke yesterday I think we would win this game. But this news is breaking today...I don't think we can re-group in time to save the win streak. And you know what...its not any of the players' fault. They are human and not machines....you think this is devastating to us. Its time 50 for the players.

No, topic creator needs a permanent ban for his jinx on Yao.
