Just heard it on Fox26 news (don't know how reliable they are.. seem pretty good).. They said that the Rockets medical staff has found a stress fracture in Yao's left foot and he's going to need some kind of seasonal surgery, which will keep him out for the remainder of the season. Rockets expected to announce the news publicly within the next hour. :( :(

Hopefully within the next hour something can change  :x

maybe Yao will pull a Willis Reed when we get to the Finals.
Oh well. I think getting past the 1st round is still a possibility depending on who we face.

I wonder if Yao will be able to play in Beijing for the Olympics.

I have a great idea! Let's tank the rest of the season and hope that we can land Beasley or Rose in the trusty ole lottery..... Yeah, that's definitely the route to take! :D

I don't even think we can get to the playoffs at this point without Yao. This is such devastating news, I can't believe our season is going to come to an end like this. We've been playing the best Rockets basketball I've seen in several years, and everything has to come crashing down like this. I'm stunned.

ESPN radio reports he is out for the rest of the season and playoffs. I hope this is a false report.

This couldn't have happened at a worse time.

Wow that hurts. Sorry to Rocket fans. Hopefully this doesn't have long term affects on Yao ala Ilgauskas.

Wow just wow.

Im here in Atlanta and I was buying Rocket tickets for the 3/12 game vs you guys. I was suppose to buy them last week, but i've been too busy that i haven't had time to pay the guy. Rockets are my 2nd favorite team behind the lakers and i wanted to see Yao and Tmac in person......:(

That sucks so much guys....who knows, maybe the team will band together and play some inspired basketball(a la the Suns in 05/06 when Amare was out for the season). It's time for T-Mac to put the team on his back and carry them.

Well who knows guys, Yao usually beats the timetable for his return. Maybe he'll pull a miracle and return for the playoffs? I sure hope so...

I honestly dont even see the Rockets making the playoffs at this point. Denver most likely takes their spot.

In the West you guys don't even have hope of making the playoffs now. I know this must be devastating for Houston fans. I truly feel for you guys.

EDIT: How classless are you? With all due respect (although you deserve none), get the hell of our board and consider this a public warning. If you return posting nonsense then further action will be taken. You truly are a disgrace to Cavs fans; I know I'd be ashamed if you were a poster on my forum.

this thing will never work with 2 injury prone stars. 2 of the 4 years together they didnt make the playoffs because of injuries. thats half the seasons they dont even give themselves a shot just because of injuries. you cant give up that many opportunities. players are only in there primes for so long.

Ive never felt bad for the Rockets until now... You guys were playing great ball. I hope Yao is able to make a full recovery.
