The official WE BELIEVE Thread!!

Post#1 » by Guy986 » Tue Feb 26, 2008 8:17 pm

We can still make the playoffs if we continue to shoot well and everybody steps up. We can still make some noise in post season and possibly even advance past the first round!!! WE NEED TO BELIEVE!

Yes, i know everybody is disappointed(understatement of the year) by the loss of Yao. But this is no time to sulk. We're sitting uncomfortably at 7th in the West with a record of 36-20. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO TALK ABOUT TANKING unlike 2 years ago. There is only one direction this team can go; towards postseason.

Contrary to popular beliefs, i dont think our players have peaked yet. We just acquired B-jax a week ago, he's only going to get better as he gets acclimated to his new teammates. Landry and Scola are only going to get better. And believe it or not, i think Scola has what it takes to be our primary post option. Scola is a much better post scorer than what he shown so far. Lest you forget, this guy along with ginobili are the primary reason why Argentina has a gold metal in the olympics. Again, losing the best center in the league hurts but we have the best backup center and the 2nd best shot blocker in history to fill that void. Mutombo can still contribute and rack up 10 rebounds and 2 blocks a game. Last but not least we still have TMAC. While he's been very mediocre this season, he is still Tracy Mcgrady, someone who can single handily win a ball game on any given night. Tmac will Step up and shut the critics up.

TO POST SEASON!!!!!

see...the problem is that last year we knew that yao was gonna be back....he has no hope of coming back this year...does tmac really want to play in the playoffs without yao against a top western conference team??...anyways

I BELIEVE

This team has too good of a record to tank now. IF we miss the playoff, we'll end up with the 17th pick or something. That's the worst case scenario. I think even without Yao, the rockets can surprise in the Playoff. Anything can happen.(see the warriors)

its like a basic elementary math problem.

the theme is "stacked"

Option A: Try to win every game and make the playoffs. Either we will make the playoffs and get torched by one of the STACKED teams in the west, or we will just miss the playoffs and get a sucky draft pick

Option B: Lose every game and get a great pick from a STACKED draft

Option B sounds good to me

Just to let you know, i was one of the main advocates for operation TANK4ROY 2 years ago. THis this its different. We have too good of a record to tank. Sure, we can sit out tmac for the rest of the season but guys like scola, head, Landry, battier, Alston will all continue to play hard. No matter how hard we tank, we ain't gonna get a top ten pick.

i think coach A is going to play scola at center and start landry at 4, with deke and chuck coming off the bench for backup C and PF.
we need the passing and shooting ability from scola.

If you dont win a championship, its an unsuccessful season. we wont do that without yao. the only thing to do is a get a good pick. TANK NOW!

Agree about the starting 5. I just wish we have another big man off the bench who could make a jumper and pass.

I won't call names but those who jinxed this team by making stupid posts on the General Board need to suspend themselves throughout the rest of the season... :banghead:

Amen.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.
