Coincidence? Injuries Piled On When Yao Switched to REEBOK.

Yao endorsed and wore Nikes from a Air Max to Shox technology his first few years at Houston. He didn't wear just a pair but a couple different air maxes and shox, probably the force series of each. But when he switched over to Reebok that's when things went down hill for Yao, missed more games per a season. My theory is Reebok is very much responsible for that acculmulated stress fracture. The model Yao wore just wasn't adequate for his size and weight and instead of suppressing the shock to reaching his bones it did anyways. Yao might not have this with the right shoe. I think Nikes latest would have saved Yao. Nikes are just that much better with their engineering specifications. FUQ Reebok!

Well i guess reebok offered more money than nike. Reebok is such a horrible brand and they endorse AI and baron more than they do Yao. Cool website though. Reebok sponsors kirk snyder and mike james and gerald green thats pretty funny.

LOL... too be honest some reeboks basketball shoes are very uncomfortable... especially those ones that they had for AI with the air transfer thing... i tried one on and immediately knew this was not going to be good... then my friend popped one and then started having foot aches.

Yao should start endorsing shoes made by a Podiatric

I doubt this is the case because his first few years, he was barely pounded every game . Nowadays he's double triple teamed every game. He never took this kind of punishment in his first two years. So you're looking too much into it.

It's funny how people don't look at the total picture. Don't take shoes for granted because they do affect things majorly. Even Van Gundy told Yao to be more demanding of Reebok. But guess what, this **** hole company is now owned by Adidas to compete against Nike,Converse, and their Walmart and Payless subsidairies. I think Yao should be smarter and where not only something that feels comfortable but has engineering data that supports a minimum shock transfer to athlete. Yao needs what Amare's wearing.

Nike is definitely the best basketball shoe for years. i don't know anyone who can match up with them. Yao needs some Air Jordans.

Exactly you can't take anything for granted, especially shoes. Those who've played basketball before know that you really need the right pair of shoes to avoid discomfort and possible injury. Someone needs to tell him the best bball shoes money can buy.

Yao is a low-arch flat footed biggest of the big man. There's no way a high arched air jordan would work for him. I have a couple of retro-jordans and I can tell you the newer models all have a narrow and high-arch proposition. Yao needs Air Max 360s with a more supportive upper like the version Amare is wearing. Imagine Amare, that season-ending knee surgery and everything else. Amare puts so much shock on his lowers because of how high he gets up time and time again but is able to play partly do to advanced medical options and his kicks.

Do you have any specific models in mind Yao could use? I'm also interested in getting some new kicks and I'm flatfooted with low arch lol...

that was the first thing i thought about when i heard yao got injured, wasn't it pretty much reeboks fault for yao's injured toe 3 years ago?

air jordan is overrated
imo adidas made better basketball shoes
but they are kind of too tight for me
i usually need to go up 1/2 side to wear adidias
which making too much space for my toes

lots of people told me how good the huarache 2k5 was
i sprained my ankles twice in that shoes (both left and right)
the air zoom is good technology but they made it too soft for landing
lucky they made it harder on kobe i
