We over-reacted, right? We're still playing well, and Luis / Carl are getting better and better, and Bobby Jackson has fit in well (no one misses the Aaron Brooks brickfest).

Aaron Brooks is still a good player. I think Bonzi was a great contributor to our game, but it doesn't look like we need him. I would love to have him though.

Who is 'we'? I said it was a good trade as soon as it happened.

I didn't sya it was a bad trade neither , Bobby needs to pick it up a little bit though , after the 1st game he had 2 poor games.
I hope he can explode on the row against Dallas , if we can win that game my god that will be amazing.

I would rather Miller over Artest purely because hes been saying he wants to go to New York for ages.

Be honest when Bonzi on our team our offense looked a lot better because he was the rare rockets player run without the ball and cut into the paint. Right now we don't see the difference because T-mac cut into the basket instead of jumpshooting and our outside shoot has been raining lately. I never suspect Bonzi's contribution to this team. Our defensive and offensive glass has not been as good as before the trade - as you see how Denver pounded us on the glasses. I'll take Bonzi anytime anywhere than Bobby. I agree with you the trade is not as bad as it seems because Bobby knows the system well enough to contribute right away and we also got rid of Mike "who".

So far, I've agreed with everything Morey has done.

I didn't like the Francis signing from a perspective of "I think he sucks royally", but he didn't cost us anything, his contract was short and small, he and James helped further motivate Alston, and he was a shot at upgrading our PG position with absolutely no risk.

I didn't think James would help us either, but his contract was a little better than Juwan's, and he brought the same benefits as Francis.

I like the Bonzi move now. Agree 100% with what Morey said.

To be honest, I have been very surprised at how well he's worked out, given how big of a mess Boston was always in before this year. I guess that was due to him only being an advisor to the GM there and not actually being in charge.

Honestly I don't know. I wish somehow the trade could have been for Bobby Jackson with Mike James Straight Up. But we couldn't afford that.

Increased min for Scola and Landry might make up for Bonzi's points and boards but his ability to create his own shot and post up will be missed especially with Yao out now

It's easy to think things are perfect now since we're on a 15 game streak but we have a difficult remaining schedule and playoffs to think about

In other words I still disagree w/ this trade, especially with Yao gone

It definitely is a bad trade. We really have no backup for tmac now, and battiers been stepping up greatly offensively to make up for bonzi. When our outside jumpshots don't fall through, we could've used bonzi's post threats and ability to get to the rim at will. We won against denver because our shots fell through from outside especially from battier. It really is a bad trade.

If yao was still here, i'd think it was an alright trade.

We needed a backup floor general more than a backup for TMAC. I really slighted BJAX but I can see where Adelman and others are coming from when they say that A Brooks wasn't gonna be good enough to mix it up with Rafer. If we could have somehow retained Wells and just traded maybe Novak, Hayes or possibly Head it might been a better package with James. But noway would NO want any of those guys they wanted that spark off the bench in Wells.

The plan was to trade Alston and let James and Francis run the point , that what I wanted too , that could have been such a disaster.

We extremely rely on rookies landry and scola now. Watch us play Dallas. If our long perimeter shots don't hit and scola or landry is having an off night, we are as good as dead. Just because of losing an effective player in bonzi.

Bjax is replaceable. Aside from his first game his stats has been iffy. If you want to compare bjax and bonzi, theres no comparison. I agree that the trade was exceptional because of offloading james contract. But on a player to player basis, it was really bad. We could live with Aaron brooks being backup . He wasn't overly horrible. But losing a quality backup for our best player tmac is just bad.

But i understand why we got rid of bonzi. Management thought he was a bad character and influence to our young guys, more than not appreciating what he brought in the court.

Bonzi had 1 good game and then 3 or 4 very average or bad games.
Bobby will be the same and he plays a more important position.
Brooks was really bad as the backup pg , all of his succes was at sg near Rafer.
If we wouldn't trade for Jackson Rafer would have been playing 40+ minutes in the playoffs again for sure.
I agree that Bonzi>>Bobby , but not by much especially not for this team.
Now we are the same , didn't get better or worse and we put our selves in a very good position to get a good player from a bad team next year.
If we don't do this trade we are still tuck with James and again we can't make any moves next season.
There is also a very good chance we will need to use part of the MLE to re-sign Landry , if that happens we won't be able to re-sign Bonzi so at least we got rid of Mike.

By alot, we need a big guy like bonzi. Bonzi was getting into form during the last few weeks when he was here, he was pretty good. Aside from being a great scorer, he rebounds well too. Rafer has plenty of backup, Brooks or Head (last year). The player who needs backup is our star tmac, NOT rafer. Rafer held his own playing 40 mins every game last season with luther head backing him up.

Bjax can't create his own shot or be a low post scorer like bonzi, something we terribly need. He's just another jump shooter who occasionally attacks the basket. We've got plenty of jumpshooters. WHat hurts us is inside. Scola's lowpost ability is good but not great. He was stopped by defenders taller than him. And against denver, his points were off layups and jumpshots. If bonzi was mixing it up in the lowpost, it would've certainly helped landry and scola.
And don't tell me a PG backup position is more important than another low post threat. We only have 2 rookies who are our lowpost scorers now. If teams nullify one of the two, we don't have our throwback and would rely on our role players to hit jumpshots.
