T-Mac's minutes

Anyone else worried? I think he logged 40+ today, and will probably log about that every game for the rest of the season. Adelman has (semi-recent) history of playing his stars heavy minutes regardless of fragility (C-Webb in Sac). Without Bonzi the cover for the SG/SF is a little thin - Battier too is seeing heavy time lately - but it's not like our recent games have gone down to the wire.

Anyway, maybe more Novak/Head is in order, just to spell T-Mac and make sure he doesn't get overworked or fatigued come playoff time.

[random blurb]

You all saw that cool T-Mac behind-the-back-fake-layup move in today's game, yeah? I was thinking that if that were kobe or wade they wouldn't have bothered with the fake. They'd have just driven in super-aggro style, taken the contact for the and1. this is the difference between them and t-mac (insane competitor v. trickster, having fun baller). but you know what? having a yen for doing that cool **** is under appreciated. it's more streetball style, not nba stupid ref calling every **** type style. not sure where this is going ... but that was a helluva cool move and t-mac deserves props for pulling that kinda stuff off in games.

EDIT: Ohyeah. someone just toldme he logged <30 in a blowout of memphis the other night. so maybe i shouldn't be so wrorried.

McGrady logged in 40 minutes today, but his minutes per game over the 15 game-winning streak has been about 37 minutes (about 3 quarters). That's pretty reasonable given that his back has been healthy.

Our lead was only 9 points after the 3rd quarter, and we didn't send them away until the middle of the 4th quarter. Adelman did the right thing by giving McGrady the majority of the minutes because you never know what a team like the Nuggets can do. They are the kind of team that can score a bunch of buckets in a very short time.

I won't worry too much about it.

Hopefully we can rest him against the lesser teams , we gonna need him for 40 minutes against the playoff teams.

he may play a lot of minutes, but his workload is not as much as last yr. he's not involved on every play and he doesn't guard the best player. he paces himself pretty well.

i wouldn't worry.

i think he's still not in great shape and adelman knows that. he purposely left tmac in blowout games since the ASB to get tmac back into shape.

he's slowly dunking a lot more but i feel he still has a lot left to show us. no need to bust out 110% when u don't have to.

u saw how he stepped up in the 3rd and extended teh lead and held back. just choosing your spots b/c he finally has a pretty good team.

Also I would like to point out that I like the way Adelman is playing T-Mac right now , all of the 1st , 2-3 minutes into the 2nd and then 4 minutes before the half.
That way we can finish and start quarters strong , also he can stay in a rythm.
Usually T-Mac would sit the first 6-7 minutes of the 2nd and he will lose his rythm.

Adelmans rotation will compliment T-Mac's style. I am not 2 worried about the minutes he is playing as long as he is healthy. Many people are expecting him to step it up while Yao is out but the whole team is playing very well. He doesn't need to go off for 40+ points to win games when he has a team full of players to help him. Like Shabi said ^^^ his *rhythm* should not be disrupted through out each quarter which RA understands.

T-Mac has always known that entertainment is part of the game and he likes having fun and doing some "showy" stuff. Like the 360 aerial spin followed by casual dunk after a foul had been called and he just felt like having some fun.
As to minutes, yeah he prob will have to log too many, but that's what the Rox have to do. One thing I'd like Adelman to do is something Doc Rivers did in Orlando. If in last 20 seconds or so of 1Q or 3Q there was a stoppage of play,he'd take McGrady out and get him a little mini-break,as often there'd be a foul shot and McGrady could be resting on the bench.

tmac's back has been good since that guy from fort worth worked on it(forgot his nickname)...the injury to him this year was pretty random
