We Would Have Won the Championship This Year

Post#1 » by McGrady2Head » Tue Mar 11, 2008 3:15 am

So many teams have screwed themselves up. Our biggest weakness was Phoenix, they went out and got Shaq, now they are worse. I completely agree with tony parker when he said "wait a minute, dallas gave up Devin Harris to get Jason Kidd?" Kidd was good, but Harris made them so much more dangerous, they arent as good anymore. the spurs are beatable because they are older. Our D is comparable to theres, and our O is more explosive. Utah doesnt have fisher or giricek's tough D anymore, they will miss it in the playoffs.

If Yao wasnt injured, the title would have been ours. We are so damn good this year. There isnt a weakness in this lineup

Alston/B. Jackson
T-Mac/Head
Battier/Hayes
Scola/Landry
Yao/Mt. Mutombo

Scola and Landry bring us so much that we have never had. Bobby Jackson was a good pickup also. i say sign all these players again, and win the title next year. we dont need to take any chances on knuckleheads like the stromile swifts of the world, or steve francis's, mike james', etc etc

Keep speculating. We would not have won a title this year. Its too much of a run to make when you haven't won a playoff series. That would be the big thing holding us back. At least with the Lakers...who have not made that run either have Kobe who has knows what it takes. And he is their leader and best player. None of the Rockets star players have been past the first round.

I do think with Yao we could have possibly made the conference finals though.

My dream for next year is trade Bobby Jackson a 1st and Luther Head for Mike Miller , sign a vet pg back up for insurance.
Try to sign Diop with the MLE if Deke retires.
Alston/Brooks
T-Mac/Miller
Battier/Miller
Scola/Landry/Hayes
Yao/Mt. Mutombo Or Diop
I believe with this kind of roster we are serious contenders and can challenge for 1st seed in our divison , IF healthy.
