Chris Paul fires back at Rafer Alston

Post#1 » by dream34 » Thu Mar 20, 2008 7:21 am

We beat New Orleans and people say they were without David West," said Alston. "Well David West isn't a superstar. He may be a star to their team, but he's not a superstar like Yao Ming."

...

Chris Paul, who again was calmly magnificent with 21 points, 10 assists and five steals, had even more to say on that front.

"Tracy McGrady is a great player. If I was Rafer Alston I'd probably ride his coattails too."

"I feel like you can make a statement with the way you play. But some guys like Rafer Alston like to run their mouth

Rafer stated a fact. I hate Chris Paul's attitude. Can't he just let it go?

Chris Paul and Rafer should hug it out.
Maybe CP should invite Rafer for sleepover?

I hate Alstons attitude!!!

This guy tried to start a fuzz with Sasha near the end of 4th

Tried to take Rando on early in 4th

And yapped his mouth about Paul and then David West

I think he should stick with his AND1 skills cause his bad attitude isn't needed in the NBA!

LOL I knew when Alston said that on national TV it would piss them off. Still that wasn't the reason we lost. Bonzi killed us in the 4th. But more importantly we just fell apart. We had a 14 point lead and never could generate enough enough to blow them away even though they kept missing shots in the first half.

They didn't need any more motivation to win; we just plain sucked in the 2nd half. Judging from their appearance we lacked any motivation whatsoever, if body language could be translated in words, they were pretty much saying "Here, it's yours ... we give up". This is a crucial period right now and Rafer's babbling is ill-timed. The last thing we need is to give teams extra incentives for raising their level of play, when we can

Seemed to me paul was just sticking up for his teammate. Both rafer and paul's statements were true and even though west isnt a superstar he is extremely important to the hornets team.

It may have came off alot better had that comment about west come from sombody relevant like TMAC. Alston has let his mouth outweigh his talent and paul called him on it.

I as a Rockets fan say that Rafer needs to shut his stupid mouth up.

You can clearly see how overcharged he is after all that rubbish with Vujacic, Rondo and this "feud" with Paul.

This is getting to his head in a bad way.

yep that was a punk thing to do by CP, but the rivalry is entertaining I hope for a Rockets-Hornets matchup :)

And if you were Chris, you'd punch Rafer in the nuts.

Chris Paul was speaking the truth. I know he's on your team and all. But you got to admit that Rafer Alston is a punk. He should be lucky that he made it into the NBA from and 1. He needs to shut his mouth and thank the stars that he's not playing in europe.
