Do these guys NOT practice their FTs?
Below is a list of players (who receive significant playing time) and their FT%.
Luther Head - 79.4%
Bobby Jackson - 75.0%
Shane Battier - 72.9%
Tracy McGrady - 68.0%
Rafer Alston - 67.6%
Carl Landry - 64.5%
Dikembe Mutombo - 63.2%
Luis Scola - 63.1%
On the other hand,
Yao Ming - 85.0%
Those are some despicable numbers.

Scola and Deke I can't blame , they were never very good free throw shooters.
The rest just needs to work harder , 67% for a pg is unacceptable.
Head nad Jackson are ok but can be better.
Battier should be at least a 75% shooter.
Mcgrady is shooting 7% less than his career average , no way he should be lower than 72% , he just needs to work on a routing and focus harder in the game.
Sometimes he doesn't even look at the basket before he shoots them nad he is so inconsistent shows you thta he needs a routine and better focus.

I don't think any of those guys are to blame. It starts with the coaching agenda. Maybe Adelman doesn't stress free throw shooting in practice?
Kieth, Clutch, and T-Mac are not responsible for the team FT shooting. Why are they on the list?

The Rockets announcers were saying that Scola was a very good free throw shooter, but he's been doing bad with the Rockets because he isn't confident about it anymore.

The team is horrible from the line I agree. First it is McGrady. He's been practicing them but he needs to focus during games and make them. Than it's Scol who is also struggling.

When your center is your best FT shooter, that's really not a good thing. Sooner or later there will be a new term in the NBA " Hack a Rocket"

Those stats make T-Mac's numbers even more amazing. He's averaging about 25ppg on jumpshots?!?
He'd be leading the league in scoring again if only he'd drive the basketball.

22 PPG
43% FG
31% 3PT
67% FT
His 3 point shooting and especially FTs are supbar for a star player. JVG said it best, Tmac should be killing it from downtown with his range and talent. And his Free Throw just indicates lack of focus.

makes you appreciate Yao more. He makes all our clutch freethrows. The freethrow shooting has been horrendous. Especially Tmac and Rafer
