2008 Draft

Any idea who the Rockets are targeting, or who we should?

Personally, I'd love to see us get Kevin Love--he seems like a perfect fit for this team (good low-post skills, hustle player, knows his strengths and plays to them, great passer for a big man).

I'd be fine putting together a package to trade up for him... maybe trade exprirings and Head for Love? Thoughts?

Only downside of the win streak is that we'll probably still get knocked out of the first round... and have a low pick.

Maybe we should start thinking about tanking so that we can get a lotto pick.

No, nevermind. I don't want our team to go into the history books as the team that got a 22 game streak and missed the playoffs.

Marcus would make a nice backup for Battier who turns 30 this year
Butch is a nice shooting big man

i never follow the ncaa close
this year is even harder
since i no longer have cable in the lab and no antena either (can't watch the tourney)
i been working like 10+ hours a day
can't even watch it at home
so i really have no idea who fit in our style of play
i wonder how's Newley and Eliyahu are doing oversea

I wanna just trade the pick for a player that can help with scoring.

Yes, because high-20s draft picks have such high value.

Or... we could just draft a scorer.

Seeing that Alston is getting older, Jackson could retire soon, and Brooks is just a solid backup i would say go for either pg DJ Augustin Texas or g Jerryd Bayless Arizona. both we would have to trade up for, but i wouldnt mind one of these guys running the floor for us.

I like the idea of Landry though too.

Those players are nice but they're way beyond our reach.

ive seen hibbert play several times and i think hed be great on the rockets. he can take chuck' place pretty much except HUGE. he can run the offense from the top of the key, something that isnt exactly chuck's strong point

since hibbert likely wont be around when we pick, one name i wouldnt mind getting is Brandon Rush of Kansas....he has great size for a SG even though he plays SF for Kansas, he is very athletic and he can shoot the ball well

You know, if Brandon Rush falls that low, and you guys are actually looking for scoring points, then how about Mario Chalmers? He can flat out play and is the leading scorer of the jayhawks. He also might turn pro if they do well this season.

Both are nice players, and there's no doubt that they'll turn pro after this season. This upcoming draft is pretty deep and I think we can grab one or the other.

EDIT: spelling.

Future PG

Serviceable C
