Yeah im just bored so i just thought if you could create a realistic roster for the 08-09 that you think would win the ring
heres mine
C- Yao Ming/Diop/Deke
PF- Luis Scola/Carl Landry/Harris
SF- Battier/MMiller/Novak
SG- TMac/MMiller/Francis
PG- Bibby/BJax/Francis
I dont feel like finding out how i would do this... but i dont think it wold be too far fetched

I don't think any team with Bibby or Francis has much of a chance.

Can you explain how we pick up Bibby, Miller, Diop, and Bonzi?
I can see one with the MLE probably Diop
I can see maybe a trade with MEMPHIS- BJAX FOR MILLER
but Bonzi and Bibby?

Artest I won't go into.

The man is right on the money, even if you don't agree with it.

I'd love to bring in Mike Miller and I really hope we do. But this lineup looks good as well.
PG: Alston, Francis, Brooks
SG: McGrady, Head, Green
C: Yao, Mutombo, Hibbert
SF: Odom, Harris, Novak
PF: Scola, Landry, Hayes
Trade Battier + BJAX for Odom
Draft Hibbert
Re-Sign Landry, Mutombo, and Gerald Green.

Houston out: BJax; Luther Head; 09 1st; '10 2nd
Miami out: Udonis Haslem
Memphis out: Mike Miller; Hakim Warrick
Houston in: Miller; Warrick
Miami in: Bobby Jackson; '10 2nd
Memphis in: Udonis Haslem; Luther Head, '09 First
Sign Diop for MLE
08 First-Draft Rush
08 Second-Draft McKiver
Yao/Diop/Deke
Scola/Landry/Harris
McGrady/Warrick/Novak
Battier/Miller/Rush
Alston/Brooks/McKiver
But I want to see Novak, Francis, Gerald Green, and possibly an udrafted rookie to battle out for that last spot.
We could go big sometimes with a lineup of:
Yao
Scola
Battier
Miller
McGrady
We can go small with
Yao
Battier
McGrady
Miller
Alston
Mike Miller wins 6th man of the year award

Bibby has played in, and kicked ass in, bigger games than virtually anybody on the Rockets roster (except Deke). He was also Adelman's PG in Sacramento and can run that offense in his sleep. So long as the backup, whether Rafer or whoever, cna play some defense, landing Bibby would be huge and give the team a clutch playoff performer to get them over that emntal hump.
Of course there is almost no way to get him, even if he opts out this summer, so its all academic.

Wow....
Realistically speaking, if we could a third option (ala Mike Miller) and possible upgrade at PG (wishful thinking would be Andre Miller) then me even being the pessimist I am would think we'd have a very solid chance assuming health is on our side (which is impossible to tell with us).

It's one thing to jock my style but to turn it into a thread & bite my tag is WEAK.
STOP BITING MY SIGNITURE DUDE. And please don't act like you didn't know -- you'll just be playing yourself more. BE ORIGINAL!

In the Would you trade McGrady thread I just posted a possible 4-way trade that I as GM would have to stop and think long and hard.
Anyway after trade Rockets would look something like this:
Yao,Battie,Woods/Motumbo
Scola,Landry
Battier,Harris
Turkoglu,Miller,Q.Ross,Green
Alston,Jackson,Brooks,Head
(Miller came from Memphis,Battie,Turkoglu came from Orl as result of trade that sent T-Mac,Francis,Hayes and Novak to Orl and 08 First to Mem.Ross was signed w/$4mil trade exception generated by trade.)
Short at PF,but Battie,Battier and Harris can play some there.Miller,Ross can play SF,as Head can also play SG.Loose out on McGrady's brilliance, but much stronger depth should compensate. Weakness at PG playmaking, but otherwise...
