Sonic Situation BS

Post#1 » by RawTmacSkillz » Sat Apr 19, 2008 6:24 am

Unless you've been livin under a rock or a bomb shelter ud know about the current sonic situation and possible move to OKC. 41 years of history in seatle and this guys wants to move..when he and the previous owner agreed to them trying to work a deal to get a stadiums etc..but no the Oklahoma native(current owner) had it in his mind all along it seems to move to OKC..thats BS! I really feel bad for the Sonic fans..i hope they win their lawsuit and get to keep the sonics and tradition!

Only Paul Allen and Mark Cuban voted against the change. I really hate it, and hate to hear about it, but Key Arena had their issues. In the sense that it is inadequate facility because of the age, but also if the improvement money was to be assimilated, the room for expansion and improvement doesn't compare to the potential of the Ford center. Also Oklahoma City has no other major sports, other than MLS. Supersonics had to battle with the Seahawks, and Mariners.

Very sad to see them leave and cease being. I didn't wanted it to happen, but hopefully Seattle embraces the Seattle Sounders FC with Thierry Henry.

Since it looks inevitable that they will move, I at least hope that they rename the franchise.

I'm with Gary Payton here. I don't want to see his jersey hanging in OKC.

Seattle is still more of a basketball town than football or baseball town. With the team they had this year they had an average of almost 80% capacity.

Its crappy, but everyone saw it coming. When you sell a team to an OKC businessman you knew that something like this was inevitable. This whole "good faith" effort to keep the team in Seattle was bs. Perhaps its occurred sooner than expected but this was inevitable. Clay Bennet is a liar, Howard Schultz is either a liar or an idiot(significantly more likely being a liar) and David Stern is an owner's tool.

Well I remember when the Oilers moved to Tenn. I was mad but still followed the team. This Sonic situation is ridiculous. I can't even imagine what's that feels like. Its almost unreal.

I don't think so, otherwise Memphis would be in the East.

Yeah, it's a sad scenario, they have so much history in that franchise.

Oklahoma is a great state, and they do deserve a team. But Seattle needs to keep the Sonics.

I feel bad for Seattle, But the owner has the last say in what or where the franchise ends up. He ask for a new stadium he didnt get what he wanted ask the owners if he could move the team they said yes end of story. All of us here in Houston went thru this BS with Bud Adams. I still hate that Bud Adams took the team away renamed it then when we got a new team he would not let us have the Oilers name. They are a bunch of greedy F_ _ __! But we put as sports fans put up with it. It is truly our own fault!!!!

It's all about the taxpayers' dollar as profit margin. You can't let anyone attack the system. Period. It's a joke, and we're the punchline.
